ASL

Tales is a wonderful concept. I think it will really help parents of Deaf Children read to them and h Deaf Child understand what is going. In my eyes this will really help everyone with the different clues, g and the different languages. I hope I can buy some in the near future so I can read to my boys. I really l DVD really helped me improve on my ASL using CL. I loved the DVD ASL tales stories. I support literacy in any form. The signing is clear and entertaining. T well planned and beautifully illustrated and easy for young readers to grasp hold of. Parents can easily What the pictures are showing as well. It's a wonderful idea. I will probably be adding these stories to o library, as I have two young children who love books. I feel ASL tales, including DVD, is extremely beneficial not only for children but also for adults. I feel for is beneficial to see the different uses of signs, classifiers, and facial expressions. The DVD also enables m practice storytelling, which I think is so important for children as it helps their imagination and interes reading. I feel that the book and DVD are put together really nicely. I enjoyed the illustrations as well as narrated portion with ASL signs. I feel one of the things I enjoyed the most was the ability to use so man languages. Not just English. I will definitely use the books and DVD with my daughter. I felt like ASL Tales really help in telling the story and help parents learn the correct ASL in telling stori more than just saying what happened, Its bringing the story to life. ASL Tales doesnt only help people learning sign languages; it also helps with learning in many different languages. Deaf kids love it and pa too. Good resource for kids and parents Alike. Enjoyable. Interactive and informative (about Classifiers, use vocabulary enrichment, for accessibility in all languages}. I think the clues could be more interactive in the DVD. The Tortoise and the Hare was a fantastic story. The ASL was very clear and enjoyable to watch. I will u with families to help them gain a greater love for literacy and understanding ASL The ASL tales is a great whole language teaching and learning tool both for formal and informal setting experience as a student this week at the ASL Immersion week using the materials added to my unders the structure of ASL and my ability to comprehend and take in the multilayered visual information as e in fluent natively spoken/signed ASL. Because of that it also kind of the ground work for me to improve expressive skills as well. ASL Tales, gave me great insight into ASL Storytelling by exemplifying it in complete ASL and then brea down so I could see the finer details, classifiers, and other unknown signs. Made the points we were lea class easier and more entertaining to grasp. This book helped me see the importance use of Classifiers in a story because it makes the story a lot m as to just explaining it. It helped me recognize major eye shape and mouth movements. Also showed m when to change in and out of character by tilting shoulders from one side to the other. Over all this help understand the use and need for classifiers, it makes, explaining things a lot more clearly, and easier to understand. ASL proficient or not, young or old: You will enjoy this creative reproduction o tale. This was my first time seeing story I was already familiar with told in ASL. IT was really amazing seeing actually understanding this sort of representation. The ASL interpretation in specific to this book and r captured the life in the illustrations. Additionally, watching the clues section showed me how to better classifiers, which is easily the most challenging part of my ASL acquisition. While the DVD/book combo resource for ASL teachers and students, it is also a fun thing for children, deaf, HOH, and hearing alike. This year I really enjoyed the class. I learned about myself that I definitely need to learn more about Cla This go around I got a better prospective of how to use them. I feel much more confidant about my sign I thought the Book and DVD, The Tortoise and the Hare was awesome! Alisha was very clear and amazing! I feel that anyone without sign skills would be able to understand h the story! Also, Taking it home so we could practice was very helpful and beneficial in our learning! This book emphasized for me to change between being the character and having the character on my h good to see facial expressions to express different emotions and using the mouth for different things IE Watching this story helped me appreciate the rich storytelling ability of ASL. Through characterization and use of space the story was brought to life. The ASL clues were great resources for further study of the language features and understanding of the story. As an Interpreter, ASL tales inspire me to continue mastering ASL and incorporate more and more ASL features into my signing.
