Appeal Letter

As an energetic and diligent PRC SM3 Undergraduate Scholarship holder, double majoring in Statistics and Mathematics in NUS, I have a definite academic goal as to dedicate myself to the research field of Economics. In order to achieve this goal, I aspire to further my study in the School of Economics in SMU, with specialization in Econometrics. The PhD program under the School of Economics in SMU, with a team of internationally recognized researchers and professors, is renowned for providing rigorous and efficient training of economic research with high productivity. I am optimistic that I will contribute greatly to SMUs academic community, and make a difference in my research career. Singapore Government and companies give me a lot of financial and spiritual support during my four years undergraduate study. I always cherish a thankful heart and am eager to contribute my knowledge and abilities to the development of Singapore. I firmly believe that the four-five years graduate study in SMU will further enable me and help me serve Singapore better in the future. Hence, I sincerely appeal to defer my six years bond and further my graduate courses. PhD program is a worthwhile investment, for both myself and my sponsor company. Best Regards,
