(4) The Percentage of Marks stipulated for the Educational Qualification is for General (Unreserved) Category
Candidates. Candidates belonging to the Reserved Category (SC / ST / OBC / PWD), filling in vacancies reserved for
the relevant category, will be entitled to a relaxation of 5% Marks in relation to that stipulated for General Category
Candidates. Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC / PWD categories filling in “unreserved” vacancies will not be
entitled to the above referred relaxation.
Selection Procedure:
The final selection will be made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in:
A. Written Objective Test: 300 Marks, B. Personal Interview: 100 Marks
Qualifying Marks:
In order to qualify for interview the candidate is required to obtain minimum 40 % marks in each objective test (35%
marks for Reserved Category) and 50% marks in all the Objective Tests taken together. (45% marks for Reserved
Category)

Syllabus for Bank of India (Clerical) Written Examination (Objective):
Number of Questions: 200, Maximum Marks: 300, Time Allowed: 90 minutes
1. Test of Reasoning & Numerical Aptitude (100 Questions, 200 Marks)
2. Test of Clerical Aptitude (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
3. Test of English Language (50 Questions, 50 Marks)
(B) Written Examination (Descriptive):
This test consists of higher order cognitive abilities to assess knowledge on current developments and communication
skills. Descriptive Test is only a qualifying one not reckoned for merit ranking, i.e. one must obtain a minimum of 50%
marks and 35% marks for SC/ST/OBC category but the marks so obtained are not added in the aggregate marks for
preparing merit list.
Duration:
60 minutes, Marks: 100 (5 compulsory questions with internal options)
(D) Personal Interview
A personal interview of 100 Marks shall be conducted to assess the candidate’s academic record interpersonal relations
adaptability, courtesy motivation, general demeanor and attitude towards work, communication skill etc. The minimum
qualifying marks for interview would be 50% (45% for Reserved Category).
Application Fee:
SC / ST / PWD / ExSM: NIL, GEN / OBC: Rs.250.00. Application fee has to be paid in any of Bank of India Branches
by computer-generated challan. Fees in any other mode will not be accepted.
How to Apply:
(i) Candidate should have a valid e-mail id.
(ii) The candidate should apply on-line through website www.bankofindia.co.in
(iii) As a First Step, candidate should take out Pre-printed Challan. Click here for Pre-printed Challan.
(iv) Against the above-said Challan, the candidate should make the payment of fees in any of the Bank of India
branches on or before June 27, 2009.
(v) Once the payment of fees is made, the concerned branch will give him a Unique Transaction Code No. ( In case of
Non-C.B.S. Branches, such Transaction Number will not be given).
(vi) Fill the Application Online.
(viii) Application should be saved and after verification submitted by click to submit button.
(ix) Application should be printed and photo affixed on that, to be kept ready for submission to us at the time of
interview at the Interview Venue.
