The Global Education Conference Proposal Submission Directions

All proposals are due November 15, 2013. The conference takes place November 18 - 23, 2013. Please follow these instructions carefully. It is your responsibility to make sure your presentation proposal is submitted correctly. Make sure that your proposal directly relates to the mission of the conference:

The Global Education Conference is a collaborative, world-wide community initiative involving students, educators, and organizations at all levels. It is designed to signicantly increase opportunities for building education-related connections around the globe while supporting cultural awareness and recognition of diversity. The conference seeks to present ideas, examples, and projects related to connecting educators and classrooms with a strong emphasis on promoting global awareness, fostering global competency, and inspiring action towards solving realworld problems. Through this event, it is our hope that attendees will challenge themselves and others to become more active citizens of the world. Let us learn, question, create, and engage in meaningful, authentic opportunities within a global context!

How to Submit Your Proposal:


1. You must be a member of the Global Education Conference Network and logged in to our community to submit your proposal. 2. VERY IMPORTANT:Join the conference presenters groupto receive email announcements for those who have submitted proposals. 3. Next, copy the following text to your computer's clipboard (highlight and click ctrl-c or command-c on your computer): Your Name and Title: School or Organization Name: Co-Presenter Name(s): Area of the World from Which You Will Present: Language in Which You Will Present: Target Audience(s): Short Session Description (one line): Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Websites / URLs Associated with Your Session:

4. Then, click hereto open a new forum discussion post.

5. Title your discussion post with the title of your proposed session. 6. Paste the template text (ctrl-v) copied in Step 2 into the body of the discussion forum post.

7. Fill in the session information according to the template.If you separate your answers with a blank line and make the questions text bold, it will make your proposal easier to read. 8. In the "Category" drop-down eld, check to make sure the category is "Conference Proposal Submissions & Waitlist." 9. In the tags eld, use the strand tag code for the strand to which you are submitting your proposal.You MUSTuse at least one the following strand tag codes:

For the "Teacher" strand, use "2013Teachers". For the "Students"strands, use "2013Students". For the "Curricular" strand, use "2013Curricular". For the "Leadership"strand, use "2013Leadership". For the iEARN strand, use 2013iEARN. For the Education For All strand, use 2013EFA.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If not input correctly, your session will be invisible in searches.

9. Click the "Add Discussion" button to save your proposal.

Important
You are able to modify your proposal after it has been saved and up until it has been accepted by clicking on the OPTIONS button and selecting EDIT DISCUSSION on your proposal page. If you do change your proposal after acceptance, please email steve@hargadon.com to notifying him. If proposals are edited after being moved to the Accepted category, our system bounce it out of its proper category and will not let you put your proposal back in its proper place. If you do not do this, your proposal will show up in the submitted category instead.
