The world is steadily progressing. New
inventions and discoveries take place every now
and then. Amenities of life keep increasing. All this
is the result of man's effort. Nothing happens on its
own. Man's necessity makes him find out new
gadgets that add to his comforts and make life an
easier affair.
This proverb has a wider application in life.
If we choose to lead a successful life, we can
do it; on the other hand, if we keep grieving on our
ill-Luck and short comings, we will stay low and
lost.
Genius needs prompt man to action. Action
results in new creations or findings. It in turn marks
man's progress. Let us analyze this concept in the
historical line. In the course of man's evolution, it
- Prithvi P., 5th D
was his necessities that caused him
to engage in explorations and
experiments. Its inevitable result was
all the comforts and luxuries he added
to his life. History of human progress
thus stands proof to the worth of this
proverb.
Problems are always followed by
solutions. Questions are always
followed by answers. Human effort
is the fuel that brings about these
solutions and answers respectively.
Situations demand new
dimensions in life. New thoughts,
lead to actions in new lines. The end
result is new solutions by way 06 new
formulas, new products, new
gadgets, new answers or new
approaches whatever it is, they all
spring from human needs. Thus the
proverb remains quite meaningful.
1. A young blue whale is the size of a small
car.
2. Honey is actually bee's vomit.
3. The poison arrow frog of South and Central
America is the most poisonous animal in the
world.
4. Pizza Margherita was named to honour the
queen of Italy 1889.
5. 6 years is what it took Leo Tolstoy to write

Water being one of the most
essential necessities of life, becoming
an increasingly scatree resource, needs
careful planning and management.
Availability of safe quality drinking
water is being reduced due to pollution
from sewage and industrial waste. So
water should be meticulously
harnessed and carefully conserved. It should be
economically used and safely disposed off after usage.
The need of the hour is sustainable water
management, especially in the context of meeting the
demands of an increasing population. Simply put, it
means managing our finite water resources for present
needs while keeping in mind the future requirement
of next generation. It also means looking at fresh water
as an exhaustible, natural and essential resource and
seeing watershed areas as sustainable units of water
resource development and management. Uttarkand
state, whose glacial peaks and beautiful valleys hold
age - old ecological secrets, is a measure water bank
for North India. These natural sources are nourished
by rain water, which is the biggest source of water on
this planet.
- Arjun K., VII D
pollution can be reduced by planting more trees. Trees
clean the air of carbon dioxide by photosynthesis. Trees
also bring rain which helps in cleaning the atmosphere.
Factories and power stations are provided with tall
chimneys which carry smoke and waste gasses high up
into the air. In some industries, to settle down pollution,
wastes are sprayed with jet of water in scrubbers before
they reach the chimneys.
- Anel A. D'Souza, VII D
Unfortunately, most of the air we
breathe is not pure. It contains harmful
substances called pollutants which
cause air pollution. Air pollution is one
of the major problems of the world. Air

If you've ever looked at a rainbow and wondered
how all those bright colors got into the sky, you're not
alone.
The ancient Greeks thought these arcs of color
were signs from the gods to warn people of the terrible
wars or storms that were going to happen. The Norse
People believed a rainbow was a bridge that gods used
to walk down from the sky to the earth. Other legends
said there was a pot of gold waiting at the end of a
rainbow.
But as beautiful as rainbows are, they aren't magic.
And they aren't solid enough to walk on. In fact, a
rainbow is just colored light. The seven colors are
always the same and appear in the same order red,
yellow, orange, green, blue, indigo and violet.
Rainbow often appears after or at the end of a
storm. When the sun is shining again
but there is still some rain in the air. The
sunlight looks white, but all seven
rainbow colors are mixed together in it.
So when a beam of sunlight passes
through the rainbows, it's broken into
the seven different colors.
But you don't have to wait for rain
to see rainbows. They can show up in
the spray of a fountain or a waterfall or
you can make your own with a
hosepipe. Set the nozzle to create a
spray, aim it away from the sun and
then stand between the sun and the
spray. You've got an instant rainbow.
Did you know? There is really no
`end' of a rainbow. Rainbows are
actually full circle. But because we can
see only a limited distance, to the
horizon of earth and sky, we see only
part of the circle.

ears which are pink in color and two red eyes.
Sweety likes to eat carrots, beans,

I like to play with my rabbit when I come
back from school. She is also a dear
friend to me. I love my rabbit very
much.

Global warming can be best
defined as the increase in the overall
warming of our planet, which if not
checked will burn all of us alive in the
near future. According to a recent study
green house gauges are the major
cause for the increase of the average
temperature of earth. There is a danger
of coastal regions drowning due to
increase in sea level with the sinking
of glaciers. Thus there is a grave danger
of an entire civilization becoming
extinct in a watery grave. Animals and
plants are also finding it difficult to cope with these
temperature changes. Species after species of both
flora and fauna might disappear from the face of the
earth. Not only this, even human life is getting affected
by Global warming. Epidemics are spreading
frequently. There is heat stress responsible for killing
people. Disease like dengue fever, yellow fever and
encephalitis are indirect results of Global Warming. As
the saying goes "It's never too late", the government
should now try to educate the people about various
kinds of pollution and create public awareness. People
should be involved in helping to reduce and control
pollution. Moreover, punishment should be strictly
given in case of violation of any environmental law so
that such people learn a lesson. Until we all get serious
and resolve to make our planet a better place to live
in, Humanity stands amidst grave danger of perishing
and being destroyed due to the severe problem of
pollution. The need of the day calls each and every
citizen of planet earth to plant trees everywhere

pure water. So stop throwing all wastes
into water. The discharged effluents
from factories have many toxic
chemical substances. Govt must take
special interest to work on this matter.
In villages govt must drill bore holes
where water can be drawn by hand or
electric pumps.
Let us join our hands to manage
water pollution and use clean safe
water. Take responsibility to preserve
water. Use it economically because
water is precious. Finally it is the duty
of each and every citizen to prevent
water pollution and make this world
clean, safe and healthy.
- Dean A. D'Souza, VI C
Water is very important in our daily life. Around
the world millions of us share a similar morning routine
that's dominated by water. We wake up in the morning,
make our way to the kitchen, we take water from the
water purifier and prepare a cup of tea or coffee. In
much of the world this is not the routine. Daily life starts
with lack of access to clean water. Instead of turning
on a tap in their homes, people must fetch water for
drinking, cooking and washing from rivers dams, lakes
and ponds. People never boil water before drinking.
They use the same water for drinking, washing clothes,
washing animals, washing vehicles etc. The
consequences are 1.8 million deaths each year from
diarrhea, cholera, typhoid and dysentery. According to
W.H.O. most of the deaths of children under five are
caused by unsafe water.
What can be done?
There is hope. Public and private organization
must work hard to solve the problem. We must
educate the people in rural areas. We should teach
them how to manage and handle water in a way to
avoid illness and disease. Greater population needs
education on the importance of hand washing. Many
people put their unwashed hands in clean water, this
behavior needs to be changed.
We should understand that nature gifted us clean,
When youre a winner youre always happy, but if youre happy as a loser youll always be a loser.

It was Monday, around 7.30a.m. I
heard my mom calling my name and
asking me to get ready to school. After
an enjoyable outing to Pandit's resort
on Sunday, I didn't feel like getting up.
But when she reminded me about the
club activity hour and told me that if I
am not interested to go to school she
would not pack my tiffin, I immediately
went to brush my teeth.
When I saw the clock it was already
8.00 a.m. my van would reach near the
gate within 10 minutes. So I had to
hurry. I rushed to the bathroom, wore
my uniform and was seated at the
dining table within such a short span. My mom fed me
2 dosas and washed my face. By then the van driver
began to honk. Waving to my dad, I ran out and sat in
near the front door. We had just reached pumpwell
circle, when it began to rain heavily. Then I realized
that I had forgotten to get my umbrella.
When the van reached the school I got down. But
I was feeling scared, because I had not got wet till now.
I remembered the words of my sister, that one of her
classmates had fever because of getting drenched in
the rain. If I too fall sick, then who will swallow those
bitter tablets? How wi ll I be able to attend
functions? But when I saw my friend Anson walking
coolly without an umbrella, I too began to follow him.
Then I realized why most of the college boys don't carry
umbrellas with them. The fun of getting wet in the rain
is very strange. How could you feel how the water pours
from the sky and drips down your hair nose
tongue wow!!! What an exciting feeling it is to splash
water everywhere and run.
On that day I decided that I will not get scared of
water and will surely join swimming coaching at
Country Club, for which I was never ready. Now I always
wish that I would forget my umbrella on a rainy day
and enjoy.

It isn't only living things that have
energy. A dead tree has hidden energy.
When we burn its wood it gives out
warmth or heat energy. The sun also
makes heat energy as it constantly
burns.
The sun gives off not just heat but
also light as light energy. The battery in
a torch makes it shine, generating light
energy. But if we put the same battery
in a radio, we get music. A battery's
energy is known as `electrical energy`.
And in a toy car that electrical energy
produces movement, or "kinetic
energy".
If we couldn't use heat, light or
electrical energy we wouldn't be able
to drive a car or cook food. We wouldn't
have light at night. Basically, we have
to use the energy of our own bodies.
And that would mean eating a lot more
and doing a lot less.
Without energy in our bodies, we wouldn't be able
to do anything. We couldn't walk, talk, or even play.
Energy is usable power. And all energy is related to some
kind of motion.
All living things need energy, no matter what they
do. Plants get their energy from sun light. Animals then
eat plants and take in energy stored in plants. The
energy is then stored in chemicals inside the animals
as food energy.
- Hershelle L Tauro, IV B1
Once a teacher asked the children to list the Seven
Wonders of the world. With furrowed brows and tight
little fists holding pens and pencils, the little scholars
set to work to recall the world's greatest wonders. The

"Are you finding it difficult to remember
the seven wonders? "No", the little girl

thinking! There are greater wonders
very close to us. I want to write about
these".
"What are these wonders?" the
teacher asked. "I think the greatest
wonders are these" "What are these

87% of our planets water is found in oceans and is
salty. Only about 3% of the water on earth is fresh water.
The water on which all lives on land depend for survival
Freshwater exists in lakes, rivers, wetlands, groundwater,
but most of it is locked away in form of ice caps and
glaciers located in the Polar Regions. As such only 1% of
all freshwater found on this planet is accessible for
human use. On an average each person who lets the tap
run while brushing wastes about 7 liters of water. If 1.21
billion Indians simply learn to put off the while brushing
their teeth, we could conserve 8.47 billion liters of water
in just a day.
Water is often described as a gift of nature. It
nourishes every plant, animal and human cell on the
planet. Of all the resources required for sustaining life
on our planet, water is arguably the most important.
Not only do we need water to grow, generate power
and run industries, but we need it as basic part of our
daily lives - the chemical reactions in all plants and
animals, including us, that support life takes place in a
water medium. History too, shows the importance of
water - societies have traditionally settled on the banks
of rivers and human civilization have blossomed or
withered depending on the availability of reliable and
clean freshwater. Besides nourishing life on Earth and
sustaining societies, water also affects all natural
processes on the planet. It plays a major role in the
complex processes of Earth's climate.

There are lots of ways to save
water around the home as much of the
water we use is wasted. By making a
few small changes in your habits you
can help save water, not by going short
or without, but by cutting out waste and
unnecessary use.
Check for leaks
Leaking taps, toilets, shower heads
and other water-using devices are
major wastes of water. Just one leaking
tap can waste, 2,000 liters per month
and increase your water bi ll
unnecessarily.
Most leaks are easy to detect and
easy to repair with basic know-how and
the right tools.
You can also use your water meter
to check whether you have a leak, check
for water leaks.
Tips around the home
Sing shorter songs in the shower:
every minute that you don't spend in
the shower saves you seven liters of
water. Reduce your shower by one
minute and you'll save about, 2,500
liters of water a year.
Turn off the tap when brushing
teeth or shaving: a running tap wastes
10 liters per minute.
Washing vegetables: plug that sink when you're
preparing vegetables it'll save you up to 10 liters per
minute
No half measures in the kitchen or laundry: a full
load of dishes or laundry uses less water and power
than two half loads.
A scrape will do! Today's modern dishwashers and
detergent mean there's no need to pre-rinse, just
scrape and pop the dishes in the machine - give it a go,
you might be surprised by the results.
Water saving devices
There are many water saving devices that you can
buy to reduce your water use. These include aerators
(mix air with water), flow regulators (to reduce the flow
of water), dual flush toilets and cistern displacement
devices (gizmos) for single flush toilets. Many devices
aren't very expensive.
In the garden
Being water wise in the garden and outside means
we reduce the amount of high quality drinking water
used on lawns, plants and pavements. Sprinklers are
the biggest cause of unnecessary water usage as they
water where not needed and often over water.
Water wise tips in the garden and outside
It's a lawn not a lake! Even at the height of summer
a weekly drink is all your lawn needs. Super smart tip:
if the grass springs back when you walk on it there's
no need to water.
Install a rain barrel: a rain barrel is a great way to
cheer up your plants and keep your water bill down.
Use a bucket to wash your car. This uses up to 125
liters less water than a hosepipe does.
Simple mulch for your garden reduces the water
that evaporates by up to 70 per cent and means less
time spent watering.
Water early in the morning or evening to reduce
water lost to evaporation.
Sweep paths and drive ways instead of washing
them.
Use a watering can or a hose with a hand - held
trigger to minimize wastage and direct water only
where needed.

`Manners makes a man' is a true
saying. By manners we mean proper
and respectful behaviour towards all
with whom we come in contact. Good
manners are learnt early in life. A child
born in a cultured family will learn to
be respectful to others because he will
see his elders behaving gently. A child
born in an uncultured family will be
disrespectful because he sees his elders
behaving badly towards others. A child
will learn whatever he is taught. So a
little carelessness on the part of the
parents is likely to spoil him and it will be difficult to
reform him afterwards. Good manners form an
important part of our civilization. We know a man from
his manners. Manners are important for our conduct
in the society. So we put too much stress on learning
manners. Parents want to teach manners to their
children. Teachers want to teach manners to their
pupils. Mentors want to teach manners to their
disciples. Good manners speak of a mans culture and
upbringing. Those with Good manners easily win
praises and love from others. Good manners are judged
by one's behavior towards others. An ill-mannered and
uncultured person is not liked by anyone. Good
manners are taught in the family and school. Good
manners go a long way to make a man a success. They
make a man look dignified. A good manner depends
on family, tradition and background. First of all, a child
learns how to speak or behave with others in his family
atmosphere.
'Live and let other live' should be our motto.

Along the lonely hillside I stay
Waiting for tired passerby
I know not the rainfall or sunshine
But the duty to perform my entire life
Let a tired soul rest on my lap
Let the cute little birds stay on my back,
Let me provide you shade in the scorching heat
And ample fruits for you to eat
There comes autumn when all of my leaves fall
But I still remain rigid and tall
Waiting for spring to cover me up with beauty
And to be ready again to carry out my duty.

Boys of spirit, boys of will
Boys of muscle, brain and power
Fit to cope with anything
These are wanted every hour
Not the weak and whining drones
Who all troubles magnify
Not the watch - word of "I cannot"
But the noble one "I will try"
Do whatever you have to do,
With a true and earnest zeal
Bend your sinews to the task,
"Put your shoulder to the wheel"
Though your duty may be hard,
Look not one it is an ill
If it be an honest task,
Do it with an honest will
In the workshop, on the farm,
At the desk, wherever you be,
From your future effort, boys
Comes a nation's destiny
I see you laughing
With your new friends
And seeing the laughter of yours
Makes me go back to the old days
Those days when we were best friends
Those days when we were inseparable,
Those giggles we shared
Those tears we wiped
Never knew I'd see a day
When we wouldn't be together
A day when I wouldn't know
The reason for your laughter
I don't let my tears fall
`Because I know you are not
there to wipe them.'
I don't show you my pain
As I know you don't care.
But I know a day will come
When you'll miss me too
And my friend,
I'll be always waiting for you!
Till the end.

Once in a village
there was a man called
Raju. He was very
clever. One day, he
went out of his house,
and he saw two men
Ramu and Somu,
fighting for a goat.
Raju went there and
asked what the matter
is. Ramu said to Raju,
that the goat was his. Some said to
Ramu, that the goat was his.
Both of them were again
fighting. Raju said stop! And he said
"I will cut this goat into 2 pieces, and
I will give one piece to Somu and
another to Ramu. As soon as Somu
heard this, he said "Please don't cut my
goat. But Ramu said "let it be it will
be equal" Hearing what Ramu had said,
Raju gave the goat to Somu. Ramu said "how can
you prove that it is Somu's". Raju said when I said
that I will cut the goat into two pieces Somu felt
pity for the goat, but you said let it be" Hearing
that Somu thanked for Raju for saving the goat.
Water management is essential
not only for the development but for
the very existence of the people. It is
because of non-realisation of this, in
many developing countries floods
and draughts go side by side.
Basically dams are built to harness
the river water so that it can be
utilized for future use and partially
checking the flood.
Nature evaporates the water
from sources and supplies it to the
world through rains. But it may not supply
it at the same time, in the the same quantity
and at the location we need it in. It is here
that water management through big
reservoirs is necessary.
In developing countries like India 69%
is used for agriculture, 23% for industries and 8%
for domestic use. For improving the general quality
of life and food production, we require more energy.
Hydro power being the cheapest, we should have
dams to generate it. Some of the famous dams in
India are: Tehri Dam, Horacid Dam, Bhakra Nangal
Dam and Tungabhdra Dam. There is a notion that
big dam's create ecological hazards. In October
2000, the Supreme Court gives judgment that it
will not be correct to presume something that will
result in an ecological disaster.

Earth is the home of man. Man lives and works in
it. But man being considered the most superior living
being has rapidly polluted mother earth. Among this
water pollution is one of the most discussed pollution.
Despite water not being alive, through our pollution
we are killing it.
The average human survives only for 3 days
without water. Inspite of this situation we continue to
pollute water, as if it is available in abundance to us.
Rivers are too polluted for fishing, swimming and
aquatic life. The large amount of decay, caused by the
death of massive algae has flourished as a result of
chemical fertilizers. This will use up a lot of oxygen in
the water. The acidification results in the lakes being
able to support a less varied amount of species, such
as fish, shrimp and clams. Also as a result of lack of
fish, loons and other water birds die.
Water pollution world wide is the loide leading
cause of deaths. There are three types of water
pollutions and they are:-
PHYSICAL: Visible types of garbage
BIOLOGICAL: Contamination by bacteria
CHEMICAL: Contamination of water by harmful
chemicals. Seventy three different kinds of patricides
have been found in ground water. Spilling oil in some
countries has resulted in burning and killing of aquatic
birds. In addition, the population of fish eating birds is
also on the decline. As all the chemicals are being
released into water bodies several species of fish with
tumors and lesions are suffering.
What can we do to save our
mother earth?
1. Make sure bottles and jars have a
top: so small animals can't get stuck
inside.
2. Be responsible with you garbage.
3. Help keep mother earth clean
4. Avoid pesticides into water
5. Use environment friendly
detergents
By using these basic steps we can
save our resourceful earth and its
species. Remember : Every drop counts.

hated coming to school then but as time passed, I

I now realize that the time has come to bid
farewell to this school and my heart is filled with
memories of days filled with laughter, in this school,
of the teachers who guided me, of friends who
always stood by me, at all times and of the noisy

PREFACE : Water is the fundamental base for
the living beings of earth. Our earth is called as blue
planet because it looks blue in space. Three fourth of
earth is covered with water, due to this it looks blue
and unique from other planets.
POLLUTION : We human beings do not use
sea water. We use only river water. But now especially
in India our rivers are polluted. Most of the rivers have
dried. We are responsible for this pollution. Factory
wastage, drainage, washing, throwing ashes after
cremation and plastics are causes of pollution.
UNDER WATER : We have Under Water in
earth but due to the lack of wells, lake, ponds, fields,
cutting of trees our under water level has decreased.
In urban areas people drill bore-wells.
These are the causes for declining
under water level in India.
PROTECT THE WATER : If
we use nature like this, one day we will
suffer scarcity of water.
We should conserve water by
giving awareness and knowledge to
public. We should take strict measure
to restrict pollution. Public should be
aware and fight against pollution. We
should encourage rain water
harvesting. Protecting forest is also
necessary.
OUR RESPONSI BILITY : We
the students should learn to save water.
We should not waste the tap water in
the house or in school. We should learn
to use water carefully. We should save
water not only for this generation but
for the next generations too. If we save
water; it will save us.
- Nishan S V C
Environment means the surroundings around us
which include land, water, air, plants, animals, solid
wastes and other things. Environment is a basic
component of our life. Temperature, light, soil,
humidity have a major influence in creating an
environment for us to live in.
Now a days due to increase in industries our
environment gets polluted. Hence it is our duty to
protect the environment from getting polluted so that
we can live in a clean and a safe environment happily.

"If there is magic on this planet" wrote
anthropologist Loren Easily; "It is contained in water".
The magic that water has worked on this planet is
all around us in countless forms; its magic is life! It was
in water that the planets first living thing was born
millions of years ago. It was water that played a key
role in nourishing the diversity of life that followed and
it is water that is vital for sustaining all life forms even
today!
Water is often described as a gift of nature and for
valid reasons. It nourishes every plant, animal and hu-
man cell on the planet. Of all the resources required
for sustaining life on our planet, water is arguably the
most important. Not only do we need water to grow
our food, generate power and run our daily lives, the
chemical reactions in all plants and animals including
us. that support life takes place in a water medium.
History too, shows the importance of
water. Societies have traditionally
settled on the banks of rivers and hu-
man civilizations have blossomed or
withered depending on the availability
of reliable and clean freshwater.
Besides nourishing life on earth
and sustaining societies, water also
affects all natural processes on the
planet. It plays major roles in the
complex processes of earth's climate
which in turn influences earth's
ecosystems thus the well being of
mankind.
Water, which covers about 70% of
our bodies also covers70% of the
planet's surface. The two facts illustrate
the critical linkages between water,
human beings and the planet.
Water in essence, represents life
and by saving water, we can save lives.

A watch is a small timepiece, typically worn
either on the wrist or attached on a chain and
carried in a pocket. Wristwatches, however, are the
most common type of watch used today. Watches
evolved in the 17th century from spring powered
clocks, which appeared in 15th century. The first
watches were strictly mechanical. As technology
progressed, the mechanisms used to measure time
have, in some cases been replaced by use of quartz
vibrations or electro- magnetic pulses and are called
quartz movements. The first digital electronic watch
was developed in 1970.

If you sit and listen in a wood,
You can hear the trees whispering
If you sit and listen by a pond,
You can hear the fish singing
But if you talk back they will stop talking
And they will sit and listen.

- Keerthan P. VII D,
We must work to improve our own
character; teach good character to our
children and help those around us to
improve their character! Character
development is essential to the ongoing
success of our society. That is why
character education is so important.
Character truly is the key to success.
From Benjamin Franklin's plan we
learn the value of focusing our attention
on one character quality at a time.
During that time we should seek to
understand as much as possible about
the character quality - what it really is,
how it has been illustrated in positive
and negative ways in history, how it can
be applied to our own life situations.

CHARACTER
Character can be defined as "The complex of
mental and ethical traits making a person. Or
character is said to be the stable and distinctive
qualities built into an individual's life which determine
his or her response regardless of circumstances.
It is those character qualities, those character traits
that determine a person's response in any given
situation. For example, a person with a strong character
quality of truthfulness is much more likely to accurately
report the facts in a given situation than a person who
is not a truthful person.
It has been said that character is the foundation
for all true success. A person may have money, position,
or power, but unless he has 'good' character he or she
is not considered to be truly successful.
Magic Johnson, one of basketball's all time great
players, developed his skills in part by practicing every
day as a youth. He demonstrated determination and
persistence, Abraham Lincoln became President after
repeatedly losing elections for lower officer. His
character was such that he could not give up.
Today's world faces many difficult problems.
Escalating crime, drug and alcohol abuse, workplace
violence, gang activity, vandalism, school dropouts,
deteriorating work ethics, domestic violence, juvenile
delinquency, racial tensions, broken families. The list
seems endless.

observing. When our sir caught a real
big spider and showed us and asked
us to count the legs we came to know
that a spider has 8 legs. He also said
spiders are very helpful to us as they
kill harmful insects in our house. After
that I began to observe everything
carefully. We also have seen and felt
different kinds of insects, snakes and
other animals, like rabbit on my lap and how useful
they are.
Our sir uses jokes, short stories and actions make
our lessons more interesting. We have learnt a lot
about insects, animals and plants by touching and
observing them. Our class is full of charts hanging on
the walls. It shows that we also must love animals and
take care of them.
He also celebrates our birthdays in a unique way
by clicking our photographs and displaying it in the
smart class singing a pre-recorded birthday song!
Our sir keeps us busy in many interesting activities
related to our subjects. We never feel bored in the class.
So we maintain silence and discipline.
He taught us how to write neatly how to read the
lessons without mistakes and how to form the words
and write dictation. My mother always says you have
become a smart boy now.
He is not only one the best teachers and favorite
teacher of all the students. We also call him a doctor
because he applies medicine for our wounds and
dresses the wounds neatly and takes special care.
He is very kind and helpful to all the students. I
will never forget my experiences in class 2B1. I will
never forget him.
May god bless and keep him in His loving care

1. Garbage dumping:
We throw garbage here and
there without caring that
people might step on
it. It attracts flies and
mosquitoes which carry harmful germs with them.
When flies and mosquitoes sit on our foods they
spread diseases among those who eat such food.
2. Defecation: When we defecate in the open, we
again spoil the cleanliness of our surroundings. We
throw the animal and human excreta in the open.
3. Urination: Urination in the open again makes the
surroundings dirty and foul smelling.
4. Spitting: Spitting here and there also spoils the
surroundings.
5. Sanitary Latrine: Defecate in sanitary latrine. After
using the latrines flush enough water into it. People
can get together and build a common latrine of
French latrines and dry pit latrines. Latrines should
be kept neat and clean.
6. If there are no latrines, then the place far
defecations in the open must be selected for away
from human habitations. It should be away from
the source of drinking water. The stools should be
covered with sand or soil to prevent spreading of
germs.
7. After defecations, hands, fingers,
nai ls, feet and legs should be
washed with soap.
8. The dumping of garbage should not
be done in the open. They should be
dumped in the pits. These pits could
be regularly emptied. The pits
should be covered with soil. After a
few months, the garbage
decomposes add it can be used as
manure.
9. Keep drinking water and food items
covered. The whole locality must be
clean and tidy.
10.We must take care of personal hy-

regularly.

enough air and sunlight.

A TRIBUTE TO MY
ALMA MATOR
As we are stepping out of our beloved school. We
are having mixed feelings of happiness as well as
sadness. Sad because, within a few days from now all
of us will be leaving the premises of this school which
was a home away from home, for the past 7 years. But
at the same time, happy because most of us will be
continuing our studies in our very own St Alousius High
School.
When anybody sees a smart boy with good
mannerisms and fluency in English, they say Hey, he
must be from St Aloysius School. That is a hallmark of
a true Aloysian. It speaks volumes about our dear Alma
Mator St Aloysius School with its motto Lucet et Ardet
meaning shine to enkindle has really moulded us from
tiny little brats of standard 1 to responsible mature
students of standard 7.
The management of our school has provided all
the faciliites to help us to accomplish our goals.
Learning through smart class, computer and language
labs, reading room and library has really helped us to
develop our all- round personality. Morning prayer and
class assemblies have enabled us to develop a spiritual
bent of mind. Sumptuous mid-day meals helped us to
be lively throughout the day.
It is said that All work and no play makes Jack a
dull boy. Our school has enabled us to take part in a
wide range of co-curricular activities through various
clubs. If students like me, can come up and speak it is
because of the encouragement and
support provided.
We owe a lot to our dear teachers
who took great care to see that every
student in the class excells. It is they
who guided us through their selfless
service. They are our friend philosopher
and guide.
Guru goes a sanskrit verse.
Teachers are like gods and as far as St
Aloysius is concerned, it is not an
exaggeration. We cannot forget the
services of our office staff and the care
takers who always helped us. Our
almamator has shaped us into
responsible boys.
It is our duty to live up to the
expectations of our Patros Saint,
Management, Rector, Headmistress
and teachers. Let us pray for
everybodys prosperity and also bring
name and fame to our alma mator.
Three cheers to St Aloysius!!! hip hip

Secondly: Select a proper atmosphere and a
comfortable and peaceful place.
Thirdly: Time to actually start studying.
Highlight the areas which were difficult. Make
small summaries and try to get maximum help from
teachers and your parents.
Fourthly: Sleep and eat well. If you are sleep -
deprived, you won't be able to remember any of
the information you learnt. A small tip - have a
glass of water before you go to bed, its essential to
keep our brain cells charged.
Fifthly: Stay calm, do not panic, remind
yourself that you are prepared and have to present
them in the answer sheet.
Sixthly: Never malpractice, keep in mind that
you are writing the exam for you to prove yourself,
so be faithful.
Seventh and last: Believe in God and believe
in you. Also think about your parents and how
much they care for you. The best gift you can give
them is your victory. All the best, go ahead with
confidence, life is definitely yours.
Thank You.
There is no short cut to success.
Yes dear friends the first thing we
should keep in mind as we prepare
ourselves for our forthcoming
exams. Exams or exam time can
often be stressful, but we can
definitely bad this stress to be
positive motivation by focusing on
what we can do to get ourselves
through at this demanding time.
Here are few useful tips which my

First : Start early - get started at
least 2 weeks before the exam.
Outline a calendar with daily topics
