To fit the print formats, the Picture Maker/Picture Kiosk trims all pictures slightly on the top and bottom. The cropping varies, based on your ID Photo size selection. Cropping is most obvious when comparing the thumbnail image against the final printed picture. However, the preview image, displayed before you touch Print, closely represents the image proportions and appearance of the final print. Cropping is most noticeable with the 2 x 2" ID Photo size. For the fastest processing, start with an empty camera card before using it. The system loads all thumbnail images from the card. Handling extra, unneeded pictures slows the system. Troubleshooting

Use the procedures in this chapter for troubleshooting problems with your Picture Maker/Picture Kiosk. First, use Health Checks. The information on the Health Checks screen can help you identify basic problems with the Picture Maker/Picture Kiosk setup or in hardware performance. These diagnostics run automatically when you start up your Picture Maker/Picture Kiosk and are also accessible through the Setup screen. In addition to the Health Checks information, this section also provides specific troubleshooting information for each of the components. Each table describes faulty behavior and recommended procedures for correcting the problem. This chapter also contains procedures for correcting picture quality problems.

Handling Output Errors If you encounter any output errors, the button in the bottom right corner of your screen appears as Error. Touch the Error button to display a full description of the error message. You may need to cancel a print job from this screen to correct the problem. For more information, see Managing Reprints and Orders on page 10-1. Accessing the Health Checks Screen When troubleshooting problems, always begin by touching Health Checks on the Setup screen. Then, if necessary, troubleshoot individual hardware separately. Follow these steps from the Setup screen to access Health Checks: 1. Touch Diagnostics. 2. Touch Health Checks.
