In todays competitive labour market potential employees dont just look at the job on offer they ask What can this Company do for me ? . Individuals are interested in what impact your organisation will have on their CV and on their future employability. How individuals define success is increasingly variable sometimes its the traditional journey into the hierarchy of the organisation, sometimes its about becoming a recognised expert in their field and sometimes it about creating a portfolio of experience that enables them to balance work and life. But regardless of their chosen strategy one thing is common - providing employees with great development isnt optional, its a basic necessity. Standard development programmes therefore have their place in corporate life but increasingly Employer of Choice organisations are turning to coaching to help provide the tailored support needed for their key individuals. Corporate Coaching is itself a competitive field. I know that. So, to help you decide whether I could add value to your business , here are the answers to some of the questions you are likely to have. If you like what you read, call me on 07717 122 950 or e-mail me at michelle@greenfieldsconsultancy and we can arrange a face to face meeting.

What is my Commercial background ? Before setting up my own business in 2003 I had almost 20 years of commercial HR experience . Initially I worked for household names such as W H Smith, Jewson and Unipart and in the latter part of my career I specialised in the Financial Services Sector including Energy Trading with RWE (parent company of npower) and Investment Banking with Standard Chartered Bank. I have worked in the UK, Continental Europe the USA and the Far East. I have always practiced a no-nonsense and commercial approach to HR and in the last 9 years of my commercial career I was a member of the management team. This not only allowed me to identify and reduce the people risk within the business but meant I was able to provide a confidential sounding board to Directors and Heads of Functions. What is my Academic background ? My first degree is in Applied Psychology, later I also achieved an MBA from Warwick University. I believe in continuous professional development and I am a Fellow of the CIPD, a member of the BPS and I am currently completing an MA in Coaching & Mentoring in Oxford. What do I coach people on ? I provide coaching to people in many different contexts : coaching for excellence; performance coaching; personal awareness coaching; targeted development coaching; career coaching and outplacement. I have worked with employees at all levels of the organisation - from individual contributors to CEOs that said, the bulk of my experience comes from working with employees who report to Board members. Typically, my client organisations are going through transformational change eg. Leadership or cultural change, acquisition, divestment. michelle@greenfieldsconsultancy.co.uk Mobile : 07717 122 950

Do I have any specialisms ? With 6 years experience in Trading organisations I believe my skill set surrounds working with confident, demanding and high intellect individuals. I have noticed two trends amongst my client base Senior individuals who are experiencing cultural or political changes and need independent support as they work out what the new rules of the game are and so that they can continue to be effective in a changing landscape Hi-potential individuals who are realising that their track record as an individual contributor is only part of what they need to excel at the next level How would I describe my coaching style ? My style of coaching reflects both my personality and my HR practitioner background perceptive, practical, action oriented and with a preference for using real examples to explore the dynamics of experience and behaviour. I see the coaching relationship as a partnership where I am not the expert, the client is. My skill lies in helping my clients realise the latent strengths and experience they already have and to put them to work in a meaningful and targeted manner. What format are the coaching sessions ? Most people like to be coached on a face to face basis, although telephone coaching can also be very effective. E-mail contact is included during any coaching programme. The frequency of sessions will depend on the issue involved. Typically, sessions tend to be held during the working day, however, I will also work outside of normal office hours to cope with time differences and busy work schedules. What is your fee structure ? In line with best practice I always offer a free chemistry session for people seeking a coach. This enables the individual to make an informed choice of my suitability for them. For the first client within an organisation I offer an introductory discount on my normal rates for their first 3 sessions. Thereafter, sessions with this client and any subsequent client are charged at the full rate. Fee structure also reflects the seniority of the individual and the complexity of the issues involved. Full details will be provided once I have received a briefing from the relevant organisational stakeholder and the individual concerned. As all my coaching interventions are tailored to the individual I do not offer a package of coaching services. However, following briefing I would be in a position to estimate overall costs or to work within a given budget if required. Think I can add value ? Contact me using the details below :
