Design a Clubhouse

Congratulations, "We Build It All Incorporated" an architectural firm that specializes in creating blueprints for building projects has just hired you. Your boss, Ray, the builder, has just assigned you a new project. You must design a blueprint and floor plan for a high-class club house to be sold by Hoger Building Supplies.

The Task

You must design the blueprint and floor plan for a 1-story clubhouse. You must draw an outside view of the clubhouse you wish to design and scan it. You will then use the Microsoft Drawing tool to design the blue prints for your clubhouse. The drawing, blueprints and floor plans must then be presented to peers.

1. You will view examples of different types of clubhouses from the websites provided. (see Resource section) 2. You will draw a picture showing the outside view of the clubhouse you wish to design. You will scan your drawing using appropriate technology. 3. You will use the grid provided (click here) to design a blueprint, and a floor plan for your clubhouse. 4. Use a 1:20 scale to design the blue print and floor plan. 5. You will use the Microsoft Drawing feature to draw an accurate blueprint and floor plan for your clubhouse. 6. Your clubhouse must not exceed (be larger than) 4 metres long, by 4 metres wide, by 2 metres high. 7. Included in your blueprint and floor plan must be: a. 4 separate rooms of varying size to accommodate different activities (meeting room, snack room, reading room, etc.) b. 2 windows of differing sizes c. 1 door d. furniture e. plumbing f. other 8. You will include the measurements of each room, door, and windows on your blueprint. 9. You will submit to Ray, the builder (teacher) an electronic package including your scanned drawing and all blueprints. 10. Use appropriate technology to present your project to your classmates.

Evaluation
Beginning 1 Blueprint and display were messy and not wellorganized. Floor plan is disjointed and not well organized. Few details displayed. Existing space is not well used. No effort at eye contact, voice clarity and projection. Developing 2 Blueprint and display were neat but not well-organized. Floor plan shows some detail, some attention to organization and creative thought. Existing space is adequately used. Adequate preparation and fluid delivery.

Your mark will be determined using the following rubric.


Accomplished 3 Blueprint and display were neat and well-organized. Exemplary Score 4 Blueprint and display were neat, well organized and extremely creative. Floor plan is extremely well organized and creative showing exemplary attention to detail. Makes excellent use of existing space. Highly organized, well rehearsed, holds attention, with good voice projection, eye contact and pacing.
