1. THE COMPANY

The Ivy League was established in Jakarta in 1999. Its name was LEE&LEE.

In 2006, The Ivy League modified its programs and began with a Summer school program
that focused on SAT and TOEFL iBT preparations.

Since its establishment, The Ivy League is already renowned as a specialist centre for
preparing students for higher education and our growing number of students reflects our
dedication to providing them with the best teachers, strategies, teaching methodology,
facilities, and course materials.

Now, Jakarta and Bandung are the places where competition and academic activity thrive
and help to fuel the country’s aspirations toward economic growth and development.
Tailored to this unique set of circumstances, The Ivy League seeks to help overcome the
challenges that will lead our students to prestigious universities and careers. Our excellent
facilities, including state of the art broadband computer laboratory (one computer for each
student), comfortable classrooms, and the latest teaching materials and methodology set
the standard for private learning centres in Indonesia. Furthermore, our courses provide
extensive practice and coaching in the specific types of questions that students will face on
major examinations. All of our students receive personal attention and a monthly report
card outlines the student’s progress and attitude.

In 2008, The Ivy League opened its branch in Bandung. In Bandung, we also offer different

4. THE PROGRAMS

TOEFL iBT
 The Test of English as a Foreign Language™ (TOEFL®) assesses how well
nonnative students can use and understand English which is used in college and
university environments.
 The TOEFL internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT) tests all four important language
skills to see if students are capable of effective communication: speaking,
listening, reading, and writing. The test helps students show that they have the
English skills necessary for success.
 Students in TOEFL iBT classes will:
a. Learn about core concepts in all four areas of the test including Reading,
Listening, Speaking, and Writing.
b. Practice real TOEFL iBT tests and thousands of iBT questions in class and
the computer laboratory using the latest computer software.
c. Simulate speaking tests on computer with the help of a native speaker.
d. Learn how to Paraphrase, Summarise, and take notes.
e. Learn how to combine information and refer to readings, lectures, and
conversations for the Integrated tasks.
f. Strengthen vocabulary and constantly upgrade grammar.
g. Ask questions and discuss issues with our experienced and friendly native
speakers.

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)

 The SAT is a standardized test for college admissions in the United State. SAT
consists of three major sections: Mathematics, Critical Reading, and Writing.
Each section receives a score on the scale of 200-800.
 Students in SAT preparation classes will:
a. Improve essay writing skills (Including: interpreting the question, planning,
structure, writing different essay styles, varying sentence structure,
improving grammar, and writing a good introduction and conclusion)

b. Understand the grammar and structure problems commonly tested in SAT
(including subject/verb agreement, pronouns, verb tense, diction, parallel
construction, idiomatic language, modifiers, adjectives and adverbs).
c. Adopt the skills and strategies necessary to effectively memorize and learn
essential SAT vocabulary.
d. Be provided with the opportunity to practice numerous practice tests,
thousands of test questions, and use diagnostic computer software.
e. Have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss problems with an
experienced native speaker teacher.

IELTS
 IELTS is the International English Language Testing System and one way to
prove your English language skills and open doors to international opportunities.
 IELTS is accepted by most Australian, British, Canadian, Irish, New Zealand and
South African academic institutions, by an increasing number of academic
institutions in the USA, and by various professional organizations. It is also a
requirement for migration to Australia and Canada.
 Students in this class will:
a. Become familiar with the format of the test, and the strategies needed.
b. Improve listening, and reading skills by adopting tried and tested skills and
strategies guarenteed to help you improve your result.
c. Learn how to write and structure a coherent academic essay
d. Practice hundreds of real IELTS tests and questions.
e. Practice speaking skills with an IELTS examiner, and simulate real speaking
tests which are recorded and examined.
 There are two types of IELTS tests available:
a. The Academic Module is intended for those who wish to enroll in universities
and other institutions of higher education.
b. The General Training Module is intended for those planning to undertake
non-academic training or to gain work experience, or for immigration
purposes.

TOEIC
 The Test of English for International Communication TM (TOEIC) is “an English
test designed to measure the ability to communicate in international
environment”.
 Students in TOEIC preparation classes will:
a. Become familiar with the format of the test.
b. Monitor their English skills and measure progress over time.
c. Achieve the standard of measurement for individual and organization-wide
comparison.
d. Be supported by the full training cycle – placement, progress test and exit
exam.
e. Be more competitive in the global job market.
