Mrs.

Scott English IV Classroom Procedure Starting class Tardy: You must be seated and in the midst of getting out what youll need for class before bell rings. Once the bell rings, my door will be shut and no late admittance will be allowed without a pass from another teacher or an LOP pass. You must show me your LOP as you enter so I can check the date for validity. On Task Be Prepared You cant show that youre serious about being successful in my class if you are unprepared for this journey. You will need to always bring your textbook (Mac Book) to class. Bring your own supplies. I do not loan out pencils/pens to students as they tend to keep them so if you are unprepared, quietly borrow what you need from a friend. Syllabus Twelfth grade students will delve deeply into analysis of various texts. A chronological approach to British Literature lends itself to a deeper understanding of how the culture of a particular era has a direct impact on its authors, their writing, and society. Students will be given ample opportunity to make short and more formal presentations in class. Writing Various papers will be assigned to practice and improve writing so that students are prepared for college composition courses. In the second semester students will be taught how to write a both a cover letter and a resume so they may leave high school ready for the work force and an eventual career. I will teach you how to avoid plagiarism. If a paper is submitted and is found to contain plagiarism, any of the following consequences will apply: minor loss of points, parental contact, discipline referral, notification of NHS, meeting with parents and/or administration, and a full failure of a test grade. All writing should be submitted through WWW.TURNITIN.com

Technology It is my hope that students will embrace the opportunity to learn and grow within my class, using the technology to enhance their learning. I encourage all students to learn new skills. I encourage students to communicate with me personally or through email.
