Fast Track and TPP: Democracy Under Attack

On behalf of his corporate campaign contributors, President Obama, wants Congress to vote on Fast Track in late September or early October so he can send the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) to a vote in Congress shortly thereafter. Backed by corporations like Monsanto, Halliburton, Exxon Mobil, and Wal-Mart, TPP is a 12 country international agreement described by fair trade advocates as NAFTA on steroids, a corporate power tool, and a backroom deal for the 1%. TPP will outsource jobs to sweatshops , raise prices on lifesaving medicines, give corporations the power to attack our environmental and consumer protection laws in international tribunals outside the jurisdiction of our court system, ban bank regulations, and endanger privacy and freedom on the internet. President Obama is requesting Fast Track Authority to pass TPP, a process that will curtail Congress power to amend TPP to remove it most destructive provisions. 8-10AM Autonomous Actions 11AM March from Zuccotti Park to Washington Square (gather in Zuccotti @ 10) NOON Rally @ Washington Square No to TPP!
