Gusset Plate LFR Analysis-Version 2.2 Member Angles and Unsupported Edge Distances
A = B = C = D = E = B1 = B2 = B3 = B4 = -90.0 degree -43.6 degree 0.0 degree 36.5 degree 90.0 degree 29.8 in 32.1 in 20.4 in 30.8 in Figure 1 Angle from Vertical: Input a positive angle for members that are clockwise from vertical and a negative angle for members that are counter clockwise from vertical. Unsupported Edge The unsupported edge distances, B1 through B4, of the top and side of the gusset plate should be taken from Distances: the center to center of the outermost bolt holes. Top Chord: If analyzing a joint in the upper chord, rotate the joint 180 degrees so that the orientation matches that of the sketch provided above. Then, analyze as if a bottom chord with angle signs as described above. Missing Members: Should the joint not have all five members then enter 99 for all dimensions and 0.01 for all forces
Distance B: B is defined as the distance between the splice plate and gusset plate. This distance is typically the thickness of the chord web and any fill plates. Distance LGS: LGS is defined as the distance from the bottom of the splice plate to the bottom of the gusset plate.
