Last March the clinic staff prayed that the Lord would send more patients or we'd have
TO reduce the staff and there would be less opportunity to witness.

During May the patients increased AND BY June we were in the midst of an epidemic OF hemorrhagic fever. (This is a form OF DENGUE FEVER CAUSED BY THE BITE OF A MOSQUITO.) June 15 I was awakened about 5:30 a. M. BY THE SOUND OF CARS AND MOTORCYCLES CRUNCHING OVER the gravel in the driveway. At 6:30 I DECIDED TO HAND OUT NUMBERS FOR REGISTRATION OR IT would be a madhouse. We opened at 8 A.M. AND BY 8:30 HAD OVER 200 PATIENTS SO HAD TO TELL LATE comers TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL OR COME BACK THE NEXT DAY. ThE STAFF WAS EXHAUSTED WHEN WE FINISHED AT 4 P.M. We DID N'T CLOSE AT NOON BUT TOOK

IT IS THE MIDDLE OF THE RAINY SEASON AND I WISH I COULD SHARE SOME OF THE ABUN DANT MOISTURE WITH YOU I I CAN SHARE SOI-IE OF THE BLESSINGS THAT THE LORD HAS BEEN SHOWERING ON USo
EVIL SPIRITS

Mrs Lai came to us for medicine the middle of July. She had been in several times before and it seemed like the- usual symptoms. While she was having her blood pressure taken, her husband told me she had been acting strangely she would curse and hit him and run, shouting, around the village, WAS SHE CRAZY? In Kean, a member of oiar staff, talked with her and her husband when they re turned to the waiting room. It turned out that a neighbor was jealous of them and this neighbor had a malevolent spirit that he could send to cause trouble

or death to others. After we told them of Jesus and His power over evil spirits, they made a profession of faith, then returned home. A week later the clinic staff went to visit in their home and found they were still believing and that she was well. Except for one son, the married children were happy to have their parents become Christians, However, Mrs, Lai's father was opposed. They live quite a distance from Chiengkamj but we are planning regular follow up.
DEMON POSSESSION

About a week later a 15 year old boy, Ong Aut was brought to clinic. The regis trar asked me to see him soon as he seemed to be having severe abdominal pain. The boy was hunched over and holding his abdomen, but wouldn't look at me or an

I wasn't getting much information that made sense so sent him into the examining room and had the Thai nurse talk to the father, She then told me the boy was demon pos sessed; so In Kean went in and started dealing with him. They moved to a private reception room and Oratai and Prasan joined them. The spirit wouldn't give his
name but was afraid whenever another Christian walked in, After about an hour

Prasan called another pastor who had had more experience in casting out demons.
He worked with the boy for another half hour before the demon left and the boy
could speak.

They then taught him about Jesus and he accepted the Lord. His father said he had a xdiole bag of charms and other things from the temple. He was to come back the next day or on Sunday. He didn't come so the staff went to see him. His mother said

he was okay and read the Bible daily and prayed before meals.
