Dear Parents
What a beautiful, sunny summer weve had! I hope that you all managed to enjoy time with your children at home and/or abroad over the break and that they feel refreshed as they embark on a new school year. To those who have just joined us at Rosemary Works School, I wish you a warm welcome and a welcome back to our existing friends. The children have settled into their new classes extremely well since Wednesday and I am delighted to see how quickly they have adapted to school life.
School Refurbishment
We are very pleased to advise that we are currently taking proposals from 3 firms of architects/designers for the refurbishment of significant parts of the school - most notably at this stage the School Hall, Reception Foyer, Reception Class and washrooms, and Nursery Class and washrooms. Once we have looked at the pitches and instructed our preferred contractor we will move on to the exciting design phase before we choose the most inspirational and stimulating plans for creating the best learning environment possible. We will involve the staff and children in the process, and keep parents informed of our progress and of time frames in which works will be undertaken.
The Early Years playground had major work undertaken over the summer and the new trim-trail is proving to be a hit with the children from Big Playschool, Nursery Class and Reception Class. Even some of the older children sneak a quick play before and after school! It has significantly enhanced the potential for childrens physical development some have found very creative ways of using it (for example chin-ups on the rope bridge), and all children are quickly becoming confident playing, stretching, balancing and moving on the equipment. Thank you to you and the Parents Network for their part in the fruition of this project.
Interested in Piano or Guitar tuition for your child/ren? Polly our Piano teacher is back this Monday (9 th)! She is looking for new beginners aged Reception and above and children who have previously had lessons with her who would like to continue. We are also starting guitar lessons later in the term. We have ample space for new beginners aged year 1 and above. I have a few children on my list already but if you are interested in music tuition for your child/ren please let Alannah know. The music teachers are independent to our school; therefore, they will be in contact with you regarding, fees, lesson times and what kind of books you require to support your childs learning.
Many thanks; we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the presentations.
