The director is searching for a location to shoot his film. The student will also compose a poem using at least four rhyming words and any one poetic device. Execution of task / Procedure The topic will be explained to the students The students will be explained the topic using the Educomp. A sample question will be given in the class. The student writes the experiences of a film director who visits various planets in the form of a diary entry and composes a poem on any one of the planets. The student also pastes/draws pictures relevant to the topic. Detailed guidelines for the project: 1. The students will use coloured A4 size cartridge sheets. The English project will be done on Page 4 and 5 of the project file. 2. Sheet 4-The students have to write a diary entry in about 100 words imagining herself/himself as a film director who visits various planets. The format should be followed. 3. Sheet 5-The student will compose a poem comprising at least three stanzas, four rhyming words and any one poetic device. An appropriate title should be given to the poem. They will paste/draw pictures as well. 4. The Rubrics for assessment will be mentioned at the end.

Duration Summer holidays Task / Tools / Techniques The task requires students to prepare a questionnaire, for 10 people, and conduct a research based on the questions. The student also writes a detailed report that discusses the findings of their research. The report aims at analyzing the data collected. Execution of task / Procedure The student prepares a questionnaire and takes readings from 10 randomly selected people. The questionnaire would contain questions related to the diet plan and the eating habits of an individual. Based on the findings of the questionnaire, the student writes a report in not more than 120 words. The student also pastes pictures of celebrities who endorse health foods and promote healthy eating. He/she writes down the recipe of a health food. The class talks about the values they inculcated during the research. DETAILED GUIDELINES FOR THE PROJECT: 1. The students have to prepare a questionnaire containing 10 questions. The following hints can be used to prepare the questionnaire, or they can use their own ideas for the same: age, gender and occupation of the individual how does the individual start a day-with/without breakfast regular food habits

The student can make photocopies of this questionnaire and circulate them to ten people of their choice. These people can be their parents, friends, neighbors, support help or anybody else who they are in contact with. The student collects the questionnaires back and compiles a report based on his data. The report should consist of 3 paragraphs (with an introduction, a body and a conclusion) and 120 words. The report should talk about how the survey was conducted and what was the general outcome/result of the survey. The student should paste a copy of the questionnaire/writes the questions on the first sheet allotted to the English project work (sheet number 4). The student, then, writes the report on sheet number 5. He/she pastes pictures of celebrities who endorse/support health foods/drinks and healthy lifestyles on sheet number 6. They can include pictures of any 4 celebrities, and write a few lines, too. Writing a few lines is entirely optional. The student writes/pastes a recipe of a healthy snack/drink on sheet number 7. The rubrics for assessment are mentioned on sheet number 7

On being asked about your past life, you become nostalgic and think about your early childhood, ambitions, school life, achievements etc. Write a short paragraph about the details you shared with the interviewer about your past life. Remember to describe the inspiration you received after the study you made. Execution of task / Procedure The students will research on any eminent personality (early childhood, ambitions, school life, achievements) and then write a short paragraph on his behalf using the appropriate tense. The activity is divided into two tasks and the students will do task 1 on page 4 and task 2 on page 5. Two A4 size coloured sheets should be used for the purpose. For task two the students have to use their imagination and write a few lines about their dream house and underline the prepositions used. The rubrics of assessment will be told to the students in advance. The cover page of the project should be unusual yet relevant. Marks will be allotted for value based inferential study made by the student for task 1. DETAILED GUIDELINES FOR THE PROJECT: 1. The students should first read about Himalayas. Then they have to write a paragraph on it. They can use the following guidelines to write the paragraph. They should give a heading to the paragraph. Word limit of 80-100 words should be followed. Also provide illustrations. 2.
