The total outstanding credit continues to grow at a relatively steady pace, despite the revolving credit remains relatively unchanged.
In March 2015 the outstanding level consumer credit grew to an annualized rate of 7.6% from the previous month (or 7.0% from March 2014)
In Mar15 the level of consumer credit reached the highest proportion over Personal Consumption Expenditures: 27.66%, just one percentage point higher the
value reached in March 2014.
In the first quarter of 2015, the level of consumer credit grew at an annualized rate of 5.4% over the previous quarter (or + 6.9% from 1Q2014)
Interestingly, the savings rate of Americans has increased to 5.47% on average in 1Q2015, compared to 4.9% in 1Q2014 and 4.58% in 4Q2014.
At the end of Dec15 it is expected that the level of outstanding consumer credit resulting 5.8% higher than in Dec14 (which had grown by 7.1% YoY)
