About Rev.

Jenkins
Since 1997, Rev. Lisa Danielle Jenkins has embraced her God-given mission of teaching and preaching personal and community empowerment through Jesus Christ, who transcends the socio-economic limitations of this world. Her early theological understanding and preaching was groomed under the leadership of the late civil rights and social activist, Rev. Dr. Timothy P. Mitchell of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Flushing, New York. Rev. Jenkins was licensed to preach the gospel in October 1997 by Dr. Mitchell and the Ebenezer Baptist Church Congregation. She was ordained on August 31, 2003 by the Eastern Baptist Association of Greater New York at the Calvary Baptist Church, Jamaica, New York, under the leadership of Rev. Victor T. Hall, Sr., Pastor. In April 2013 Rev. Jenkins was called by the membership of the St. Matthews Baptist Church in Harlem, NY to serve as their 10 th Pastor and the first female. Prior to her call to the St. Matthew Baptist Church, Rev. Jenkins served for 4 years as Pastor of the Blessed Trinity Baptist Church, also located in the village of Harlem, New York. Before becoming the pastor at Blessed Trinity, Reverend Jenkins served in ministry full-time at the Calvary Baptist Church. There she was responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the many ministries of the church. She is specifically credited with expanding the young adult ministry and serving as community liaison. While in seminary, her supervised ministry was performed at the Amity Baptist Church in Jamaica, NY, under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Dwight McCauley Jackson and at the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY under the leadership of its former pastor, Rev. Dr. Elliott Cuff. Rev. Jenkins has also served in professional positions at RJR Nabisco and Reuters America. Previously, a Gospel Announcer for Radio Station 1160 AM in Teaneck New Jersey, she has also traveled & sung with the Grammy-Award winning Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Crusade Choir. Prior to her transition to Harlem, Rev. Jenkins was active in the Eastern Baptist Association and was appointed by Former Moderator, Dr. H. Devore Chapman as a charter officer of the Young Pastors & Ministers Auxiliary. In February 2011, Rev. Jenkins was selected as the first female to address the Ministers Division at the Annual Session of the Empire Baptist Missionary Conventions Congress of Christian Education. In October 2011, Rev. Jenkins was selected to serve on the committee for the Pastors Division of the Empire Baptist Missionary Convention another first, and in October 2012, she introduced the Conventions first Women In Ministry Component at the Annual Session in Niagara Falls, New York. She is also a contributing writer for the National Baptist Conventions Sunday School Publishing Board as well as the African American Lectionary and has recently written SCANDAL: An Introductory Brief on the Gospel of Jesus the Christ in Ancient Palestine.

Most recently, Rev. Jenkins was appointed by the Manhattan Borough President to Community Board 10, which serves Central Harlem. A graduate of Pace University, Rev. Jenkins received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications with a minor in Journalism. In addition to her education at Pace University, she has attained the degree of Master of Divinity from New York Theological Seminary. Rev. Jenkins is the founder of El DiJae Ministries and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Cultural Diversity at York College/CUNY. She is a member of the Frederick Douglas Democratic Association and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Rev. Jenkins is the proud mother of Jordan Christopher Jenkins-Cran dle.
