1. Factors that perpetuated the situation in Germany in World War II: When Adolf Hitler came to power. The implementation of Nuremberg Laws Building Concentration and Extermination Camps

Adolf Hitler and the Nazis were the one responsible for the holocaust or the extermination of the Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovahs Witnesses, and the disabled. I believe that this kind of genocide will not happen in our country because we live in a democracy and we have the rights to fight for our lives and what we believe in. As a student, I can join groups that promote unity and acceptance towards other people with different religions and beliefs in life. 2. Quadra gessimo Anno (Latin for In the 40th Year) is an encyclical issued by Pope Pius XI on May 15, 1931. Pius XI discusses the ethical implications of the social and economic order. He describes the major dangers for human freedom and dignity arising from unrestrained capitalism and totalitarian communism. He calls for the reconstruction of the social order based on the principle of solidarity and subsidiary. Major Points: Demand of social justice: wages should support families. Women and children should not be abused in the work world. Public authorities can help businesses pay a just wage.

Opportunities must be provided to those willing to work (#74). Reform of Social Order

Primary duty of the State: to abolish conflict and promo te harmony between classes. Importance of vocational groups: common effort for the common good. Proper ordering of economic affairs cannot be left to free enterprise alone. Economic supremacy has replaced free competition. Economic institutions must be imbued with a spirit of justice. Calls for international economic cooperation. Supports public intervention in labour-management disputes. Changes in Capitalism Changes in Socialism

Social reconstruction needs a return to Christian spirit and Gospel principles. Love and charity must reinforce justice. 3. The main points of Pope John Paul IIs letter to the Jewish Community: Nostra Aetate Repudiated the long-standing deicide charge by declaring that Jews should not be spoken of as rejected or accursed as if this followed from Holy Scripture. It stressed the religious bond and spiritual legacy shared by Jews and Church. This has become axiomatic in later Catholic ecclesiastical and theological writings.

It strongly implied that God and Jews abide in covenant: to them belong the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises.

It deplored all hatreds, persecutions, displays of antisemitism directed against the Jews at any time or from any source. while Nostra Aetate did not mention Christian anti Semitism, later documents acknowledged Christian wrongdoing and labelled anti-Semitism as a sin against God and humanity. Christian penitence was perhaps expressed most iconically in Pope John Paul IIs prayer at the Western Wall on March 26, 2000.

It stressed the need for accurate biblical interpretation and religious education: all must take care, lest in catechizing or in preaching the word of God, they teach anything which is not in accord with the truth of the Gospel message or the spirit of Christ.

It called for Catholics and Jews to collaborate in biblical and theological enquiry and friendly discussions.

It intentionally expressed no desire for Jews to become Christians, relegating the resolution of Jewish and Christian disagreements about Christ until the eschatological dawning of Gods kingdom: Together with the prophets and that same apostle, the church awaits the day, known to God alone, when all peoples will call on God with one voice and serve him shoulder to shoulder.
