Advanced: Reading Comprehension

A hybrid vehicle is a vehicle that uses two or more distinct power sources to run. The term most commonly refers to hybrid electric vehicles, which combine an internal combustion engine and one or more electric motors. Although hybrid cars are considered to be more environmentally friendly than traditional cars, they are also more expensive than regular cars. Its a fact that many people would drive hybrid cars if they could, but their financial situation forces them to continue driving regular vehicles. While the adoption rate for hybrids is small today, it has the potential to be very large over time as more models are offered and incremental costs decline. However, forecasts vary widely. Some skeptics believe that hybrids will never comprise more than 10% of the U.S. auto market.
