X-WinderTM Software
The X-Winder comes with simple, easy to use software that runs on a PC (or MAC with PC emulation software):
(1) The Designer is used to design and specify parts for custom windings. The Designer creates industry standard G-Code files. (2) The Executor executes the G-Code. The Executor physically operates the XWinder mandrel and carriage stepper motors as specified by the G-Code to build the final parts.

For Software Developers: (A) A software development kit (SDK) is available detailing the application program interface (API) allowing direct acces to the stepper motor drivers. Sample source code is provided with the SDK providing examples of how to directly operate the stepper motors from your program in any of 15 programming languages listed (B) The SDK provides a listing of the supported G-code commands allowing any Gcode generator program to produce G-code for the XWinder
Sample API Code included with the SDK in these programming languages: AppleScript C# (Windows) C/C++ (Standard C/C++) C/C++ (MS Visual C/C++) Cocoa Flash AS3 Flex AS3 Java LabVIEW (32bit;Win./Mac /Lnx) LabVIEW (64bit; Win. Only) MATLAB Max/MSP (Windows) Max/MSP (Mac OSX) Python Ruby Visual Basic .NET Visual Basic 6.0

This same tube built with the X-Winder costs about .00 per foot. 80% less - or about $4 Here's the cost breakdown: Cost of Filament: One pound of 6K carbon fiber filament, which is 0.125" wide, costs about $65 and is 3,750 feet in length. A 1" diameter, 1 foot long tube with 2 winding layers and a typical wall thickness of 0.040" requires about 180 feet of filament, or about .50 $3 of carbon fiber filament. Cost of Epoxy Glue: Epoxy resin glue costs about $25 per quart and this tube requires about 1.0 cubic .43 inch (0.017 quarts) of epoxy whichs costs $0 cents. Thus, total cost of this 1" diameter, 1 foot tube made with the X-Winder is:
