METHODOLOGY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS OF G+3 CONFIGURATION

The following methodology will be adopted for completion of the works: 1) Post Award works: After receiving the L.O.I and taking over the site from Client, Ground Breaking ceremony will be performed which will be followed by mobilization of resources like men, machinery and materials. 2) Start up and Mobilization: This will include obtaining the statutory clearances like labour permits and others, Deployment of staff , workers , approved subcontractors , Plant & machinery deployment in phases ,construction of approaches , construction / establishment of Site office / meeting hall Go-down for materials Canteen & Mess. Quality lab at the designated location. Arrangement of construction power and water. Dispensary. Fabrication yard for Reinforcement & structural steel. Workshop etc. In compliance with safety and quality requirements. The construction of the above enabling works will be started only after the clearance / approval from the representative/s of Client or their consultants 3) Commencement of construction and formation of internal roads: Once the layout is finalized, detailed site survey will be done to establish the control points including establishment of bench marks within the site by constructing pillars, with respect to Permanent Bench mark. The pre excavation levels taken at 5m / 10 m intervals will be recorded in the approved format as joint record duly signed by representative /s of Client or their consultants. The layouts of the internal roads are marked and various structures will be marked on the ground.

4) Setting Out The bench mark levels are transferred nearer to the marked structures. From the substructure drawings, a general arrangement drawing for foundation layout shall be set out on the ground. Centre lines pillars are constructed as per the grid plan. Excavations for the columns are done with machines and trimming done manually with reference to the levels of the bench marks and finished formation levels. 5) Foundation work PCC with 40mm stone aggregate of 1:4:8 mix is laid. Column centerlines are marked on the PCC Isolated Footing reinforcement already bent and fabricated is kept in position and tied as per the structural drawings and as per IS 2502 and SP 34. Necessary cover blocks below and sides of the reinforcement are placed in position. Steel plated shuttering provided as per the drawings. Concrete of M25 mix brought by transit mixers from the batching plant is laid, vibrated, leveled and finished to the desired level. The concrete samples of a random transit mixture load are cast into six concrete cube testing moulds as per the standard procedures of Quality Control Department. Curing is done after 12 hours of concreting.

6) Columns upto plinth level (Upto Floor Level) Column pedestals in Mix 25 are cast upto the bottom of the plinth beams. After doing the filling upto the filling the sides of the columns and the basement upto the bottom of the plinth beam, watering and consolidation. PCC in Mix 1:5:10 is laid for the part of plinth beams only to serve as bottom shuttering for the plinth beams. Reinforcement for the plinth beams already bent and fabricated is kept in position and tied as per the structural drawings and as per IS 2502 and SP 34.

Necessary cover blocks below and sides of the reinforcement are placed in position. Side shuttering for the plinth beams is provided as per the drawings. Concrete of M25 mix brought by transit mixers from the batching plant is laid, vibrated, leveled and finished to the desired level. The concrete samples of a random transit mixture load are cast into six concrete cube testing moulds as per the standard procedures of Quality Control Department. After 24 hours of concreting the side shuttering is removed Curing is done after 12 hours of concreting.

7) Basement filling Earth filling is done with the available or borrowed earth watered, consolidated, and tested etc., upto the desired level. PCC of Mix 1:4:8 with 40mm aggregate is laid as base under the floors.

8) Columns upto the first floor beam bottom level Column main rods and stirrups already bent and fabricated are kept in position and tied as per the structural drawings and as per IS 2502 and SP 34. Column starters are marked and laid in CC M30 mix. Necessary cover blocks below and sides of the reinforcement are placed in position. Side shuttering for the columns is provided as per the drawings. After three days of concreting, hacking the exposed surfaces of the column to be done at very close intervals.

9) RCC Roofing work Beam bottom, side shuttering and soffit of the slab shuttering is provided as per the specifications. Reinforcement for the floor beams already bent and fabricated is kept in position and tied as per the structural drawings and as per IS 2502 and SP 34. Necessary cover blocks below and sides of the reinforcement are placed in position. Side shuttering for the floor beams is provided as per the drawings. Reinforcement for the slabs already bent and fabricated is kept in position and tied as per the structural drawings and as per IS 2502 and SP 34. Concrete of M25 mix brought by transit mixers from the batching plant is pumped, laid, vibrated, leveled and finished to the desired level. The concrete samples of a random transit mixture load are cast into six concrete cube testing moulds as per the standard procedures of Quality Control Department. After 24 hours of concreting the side shuttering for the beams is removed. After three days of concreting, hacking the exposed surfaces of the beam to be done at very close intervals. Curing is done after 12 hours of concreting and water is ponded for the slab area.

10) Deshuttering Deshuttering done from period of 7 to 14 days of concrete laying depending upon the spans. 48 hours before the deshuttering curing should be stopped and the surface of the concrete to be dried. After deshuttering all the concretes, hacking for the exposed surfaces to be done at very close intervals.

11) Similar procedure is adopted for 2nd floor floor slab, 3rd floor-floor slab and Terrace slab work. 12) The columns of the staircase mumty room are cast and slab work as desired is

laid.

13) The entire operation of work from excavation to the terrace slab concreting and deshuttering will be completed in 135 days. 14) Brick Work Brick work with soaked bricks in cement mortar for all the floors and parapet wall will be constructed simultaneously in heights of one meter intervals. Two numbers of 8mm diameters Tor steel rods will be provided in all 115mm walls at every 6th layer. The required door, window and ventilator frames are to be fixed in the designated positions and as shown in the approved plan. The holdfasts are to be set in concrete of mix M20. Curing done for the brick work after 24 hours. Care to be taken to see that the walls are constructed to the plumb.

15) Plastering Ceiling plastering to a maximum thickness of 10mm to be done to the level. Internal plastering to a maximum thickness of 15mm single coat is applied. External plastering for all external surfaces including parapet wall in two coats, 1st coat to a thickess of 12mm to 15mm and 2nd coat to a thickness of 6mm to be done. 16) Waterproofing treatment Terraces Water proofing treatment as per the manufacturers specifications is done. The same treatment has to be extended upto 30cm above the Terrace Level. Sunken slabs Water proofing treatment as per the manufacturers specifications is done. The same treatment has to be extended upto a minimum of 30cm above the Sunken slab level.
