Jessies The June Callwood Centre for Young Women is a pro-choice, comprehensive resource centre for pregnant teenagers, young parents and their children. Jessies work includes a broad spectrum of services addressing issues related to the social determinants of health. We promote a feminist analysis of oppression and strive to demonstrate our commitment to feminism, anti-discrimination and positive social change in every aspect of our structure and functioning. Jessies staff and clients (participant) come from diverse cultures and sexual orientations. Having a rich history in working with diverse populations is fundamental to this role, as well as the ability to work in a participatory hierarchy, which entails participation in all the various aspects of the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the staff team the Program Manager will ensure that services and programs run effectively, and within Jessies service delivery framework, and strategic plan. Responsibilities Indirect Services Plan, coordinate and implement projects and program activities Act as the liaison with the Toronto District School Board in relation to Jessies Centre Section 23 school program. Recommend results-based program changes to improve and enhance service delivery and operational performance. Responsible for statistical information, documentation and reporting for each program area. Participate in internal and external meetings; liaise with community organizations and networks. Lead a number of program promotion and community outreach activities. Provide support, motivation and supervision to direct service staff Assist the Executive Director in writing program grant applications and reports to funders.

The Program Manager will step into the role of Interim ED during any planned or unplanned absence of the Executive Director.

Direct Services: Provide direct practical supportive counselling and assistance to participants in their pursuit of identified goals and needs. Advocate for participants rights, assistance and services as identified in their service plan. (systemic advocacy)

Requirements:

Degree in a related Social Service Field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Minimum 3 years experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team including hiring, supervision, evaluation and scheduling of staff. Minimum 5 years experience in providing direct services, preferably with youth and/0r young parents, and children. Knowledge of resources in the City of Toronto. Demonstrated ability to provide effective and responsible leadership utilizing a cooperative and collaborative management style. Knowledge of general management principles and human resources management. Knowledge of financial management in a not for profit organization. Experience with program assessment, evaluation and development. Excellent verbal and written skills Demonstrated computer literacy skills.
