Quantitative Data Analysis Software If we look at the mounting volume of literature now days, it can be seen that all

the research papers can be categorized into two broad categories. Those are namely quantitative research and qualitative research. Both of these categories are solely dependent on the type of research methodology and data used for research. Quantitative data can be time series data, cross sectional data and panel data. Qualitative data can be interview data, and survey data. Analysis of this data differ largely and so as the usage of software. When we consider quantitative data, there are some specific software, which can be used to analyze the data used for the research. They are as per the following: Microsoft Excel: This is the basic statistical tool for quantitative data analysis. There are various in-built functionalities those can be used directly for data analysis. To begin with, there are formulae for calculating mean, mode and median, i.e. the central tendency of the data. This analysis is very significant while considering the large volume of time series data. Though the in-built functionalities are fundamentally meant for what-if analysis, there are the options for using add-on facilities. Presently complex add-ons are also available for the data analysis techniques like, regression analysis, cluster analysis, causality-testing etc. SPSS: This can be considered as a higher version of MS Excel, with various in-built data analysis tools, which are also present in MS Excel, but to a limited extent. It is the first level software for advanced data analysis. Irrespective of the volume of the data, this software is capable of handling various complex calculations on both quantitative and qualitative data. This is the first ever software, which came up with the functionality of categorizing the data into nominal pattern, categorical pattern, scale pattern etc. However, while considering data transformations in time-series analysis, this software becomes a weaker option. E-Views: This is the software, which is used specifically for quantitative data. This software overcame the limitations of SPSS in terms of data transformation. It allows user for making complex transformational equations, along with real-time transformed data. Moreover, it uses the latest quantitative data analysis techniques, which enhances the value of this software much more than the others in the market.

When we consider the choice of software while conducting a quantitative data analysis, there are several organizations in India those provide consulting services particularly in this domain.
