SNIPER COURSE Syllabus I.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This training aims to develop the students confidence and proficiency in the use of long firearms and to gauge the capability of SAF personnel to deliver discriminatory and highly accurate rifle shots against enemy targets, which cannot be engaged successfully because of range, size, location and visibility. Sniping requires the development of basic skills of personnel to a high degree of perfection, to increase his value as a force multiplier and to ensure his survival in the field. A sniper must be highly trained in long-range rifle marksmanship and field craftsmanship to ensure maximum effective engagements with minimum risk. The training activity shall be undertaken by SAF personnel assigned with operating troops. The training shall be done in accordance with the way SAF personnel perform their duties or conduct operations in the field, wearing their SAF uniform and gear. II. OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of the course, the SAF personnel will be able: a. To train and develop PNP personnel in the field of sniping in whatever scenarios; b. To develop qualified snipers who can provide extended range support to the operating troops; c. To deploy sniper teams for scouting and information collection which are vital in police operations; and d. To act as trainers of their respective teams. III.
