Yalta Conference to promote copyright Ukraine has chosen to pursue modern European development vector and wishes to br ing

the national economy to a new level, but this requires that attention be pai d to the legal protection of intellectual property. Yalta, Crimea in September hosted the XXI International scientific-practical con ference "Urgent issues of intellectual property," one of the largest venues in t he area of copyright and patent law.The event was organized by the State Service for Intellectual Property of Ukraine and the World Intellectual Property Organiz ation. Today, intellectual property (IP) is a powerful tool for economic growth that af fects many economic sectors. It is real and intangible corporate capital. A developed legal space of intellectual property is an indicator and the main dr iver of the leading innovative economies in Europe and the United States. Govern ment should establish an effective approach for interacting with the IT environm ent, particularly in the field of copyright and related rights, ensure mutual be nefit and sustainable development, and contribute to creation of the information society in Ukraine. The agenda of the event showcases efficient and effective mechanisms for legal p rotection of patent rights, as well as in pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.The c onference will provide a platform for industry experts who will discuss practica l aspects of the commercialization of rights, international instruments of techn ology transfer, and innovative approaches to copyright in the Ukrainian economy. Reviewing the objectives of the conference, Chairman of the State Service Nichol ay Kovinya said that without efficient intellectual property management there so cio-economic growth in Ukraine is impossible. He said it is necessary to provide reliable protection of copyright and patent law in order to attract foreign inv estment and develop foreign trade. "The conference is a continuation of our systemic actions to expand and deepen i nternational cooperation in the field of legal protection of intellectual proper ty rights.The fact that we are holding this international conference for the twen ty-first time proves that the intellectual property is becoming increasingly imp ortant for development of the modern society.We are confident that the XXI Intern ational scientific-practical conference "Urgent issues of intellectual property" will help share knowledge, hold new meetings and make acquaintances, as well as get fresh and promising ideas and establish a multi-stakeholder cooperation, wh ich is useful for all participants experts in the legal protection of intellectu al property rights," Kovinya said.
