1. How old are you?

26+ 10% 23-25 10% 20-22 20% 17-19 20% 14-16 40%

Like my last questionnaire this question conveys a similar answer. It conveys that there is a wide range of students rather than the stereotype of just having 16 to 18 year olds there is a wide spectrum of people all at different stages of their lives. Therefore my magazine needs to range in content and should be suitable for the entire age range of the community. 2. What gender are you?

Female 50%

Male 50%

This answer portrays an equal balance of male and females within the community, this means that I need to be careful at who and what I am it for as male and females have different qualities and look for different content and graphics in a student magazine. 3. What electronic devices do you own?

PC 8% Laptop 31%

Tablet 23%

Smart Phone 38%

It is clear that the majority of the students have access to a smartphone so in my previous questionnaire it was requested that the student magazine would be interactive and this could be the platform that it is on, so then the majority of students on a tablet or smartphone could access the interactive content. Also this conveys that my audience are social and like to get involved with other students, making them technology savvy and interactive with other members of society. 4. What is your favourite thing to do?

Play Sports 20% Play Video Games 20% Socialize with friends 50%

Listen to Music 10%

The options with the highest ratings often involve other people, for example playing video games you can play online against other people, sports you usually play on a team or against someone, this conveys my audience as people who like to communicate and spend time with others. 5. How much money a week do you spend on leisure?

16 - 20 0% 11 - 15 18%

21 + 0%

5 or below 36% 6 - 10 46%

In this question it is revealed that students in the college dont spend much on leisure, for example no one spent over 16 a week. This can convey that although my target audience like to go out and have fun, they have to be sensible with how much they spend and where they go. 6. Whats your favourite genre of magazine?
Home and Gardening 0% Music/Entertain ment 18%

Sport 9%

Woman's Interests 19%

Men's Interests 9% News 0% Teen 0%

Gossip 18%

Fashion 18%

Lifestyle/Fitness 9%

In this pie chart it portrays a wide range of preferred genres; all of these vary for different people. Thisll make it hard to be able to interest the whole student audience due to the wide spectrum of interests that the students have. Therefore this might conclude to just having my target group of students aimed at one specific group to make the quality more focused and more interesting. 7. How often do you buy magazines?

Never 10% Rountinely 30% Rarely 30%

Occasionally 20%

Sometimes 10%

In this questionnaire it conveys that the same percentage who buy magazines and rarely buy magazines. This could be down to numerous factors, such as money problems. This could portray that to get my audience to read my magazine it would have to be free. Although it could be because magazines dont interest them, so I would have to make my front cover especially appealing to the eye to gain attention. 8. What is your favourite place?

Sports Bowling Hall Alley 10% 10% Home 10%

Music Venue 40%

Cinema 30%

The answer to this question also implies that my target audience are social and like to engage in activities with other people, only a slight minority chose home, but even then it could mean that they socialise with their neighbours. Although this also conveys that my audience are interested in socialising but in different ways as it depends on the person.

9. Would you rather have a magazine aimed at a specific group of students or would you prefer to have it aimed at the whole student community?

Overall Student Community 40%

Specific Group of Students 60%

Although in my last questionnaire it was 60% overall students and 40% specific students, this portrays that the tables have been turned and that in fact the students dont mind. So now it will be a straight up decision on whether the student magazine should be focused on a specific group or the whole college in general. 10. Would you be willing to pay for a college magazine, if so how much?

Yes 20%

No 80%

The majority conveyed that they didnt want to pay for a student magazine and this conveys that my audience havent got enough money to spend on not as creditable magazines as Vogue or other big name companies. The people who picked yes conveyed they would pay the maximum of 1 - 1.50 for the magazine, but this would vary on how often it was published and whether it would appeal to them. I think that I am going to aim my magazine at the whole student community because then this can appeal to a wider audience and although it would be more general it could be used to bring people together and socialise with other students from other backgrounds. I can now envisage my target audience as my questions are more suited for what I was actually looking for.
