Barbara Deloris Coltharp
Graveside memorial services for Barbara Deloris Coltharp, 76, of Collinsville, were held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook. The Rev. Leonard Pirtle officiated. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Sperry. She was born April 15, COLTHARP 1937 in Wolco to Joseph A. and Mabel (Randolph) Coltharp. She passed away Aug. 25, 2013 in Broken Arrow. Barbara was a credit card clerk for Shell Oil Company. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially when scrapbooking and playing cards and other games. Barbara enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis. She also loved volunteering with the United Way. Barbara also had a great love for her pets, both dogs and cats. She is survived by her brother, Donald Coltharp, Sr. of Skiatook; nieces, Joan Oliver, Dianna Riley, Sandy Coltharp, and Debbie Coltharp; nephews, Lynn Cook, Wayne Griggs, Curtis Griggs, Lee Coltharp, Marty Coltharp, David Coltharp, Doug Coltharp, and Darren Coltharp; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mabel Coltharp; brothers, Walter Coltharp, Robby Coltharp, Bob Coltharp, Richard Coltharp, and Gene Coltharp; sisters, Margie Cook, Alyne Griggs, and Martha Jane Dick; niece, Linda Sue Coltharp; nephews, Jerry Coltharp, Johnny Coltharp, Tom Coltharp, Steve Coltharp. Rhodena Laura Thornton


Funeral services for Rhodena Laura Thornton were Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at Skiatook Christian Church with Pastor Trey Harper officiating. Interment followed in the Osage Hardens Cemetery under the direction of Sien-Shelton Funeral Home. Rhodena Laura Thornton, age 74, of SIdatook, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born Feb. 4, 1939 in Hominy to Leonard M. and Josephine Elizabeth (Ridge) McFee. Rhodena grew up and received her education in the Mound Valley School near Hominy. She married William Henry Thornton Nov. 27, 1959 in Sedan, Kan.. They made their home in Oregon, New Mexico and Texas before moving to Skiatook in June of 1971. She was a Med Aid with nursing homes in Tulsa, Collinsville and Skiatook, and retired due to health problems in October 1998. Rhodena liked working with ceramics, reading and going to the casino. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. Rhodena was preceded in death by her mother and father and two brothers. Rhodena is survived by her husband William Henry Thornton of the home; four children, Richard Lewis Elledge of Owasso, Pamela Louise Brown of Ardmore, Stephen William Thornton of Tulsa and Sissy Hand of Skiatook; one sister, Kelly Jo McKenzie of Muskogee; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Music for the services included "The Old Rugged Cross", "In The Garden" and "When I Get To Where I'm Going". Casket escorts were Richard Elledge, Stephen Thornton, Stephen Thornton II, Richard Elledge Jr. Justin Whinery and Matt Elledge. Funeral services and interment were under the direction of Sien-Shelton Funeral Home.

A.J. Dobbs
Graveside services for A.J. Dobbs, 85, of Skiatook were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow with Pastor Mark Shelton officiating. Interment was under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Musical selection for the service was "I Can Only Imagine" sung by Shelly Davis. A.J. passed away Sept. 6, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 11, 1928 in Pima, Ariz., to Jack and Edith (Brown) Dobbs. James married Wilhelmina Elizabeth Roberts. She preceded him in death on March 22, 2007. A.J. worked as a welder for Braden Steel for many years. He spent many years in Bixby before moving to Skiatook where he made his home for the last 13 years. He is survived by his grandchildren, Charlie Dobbs, Oren O'Dell and wife Karen, Tammy Wilton and husband Anthony, Kimberly Chasteen and husband Robbie, and Jimmie Hahn Jr.; greatgrandchildren, Grace, Osten and Westen O'Dell, Shea and Saundra Wilton, and Jessica and Ana Marie Chasteen. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilhelmina, son Sammie Joe Dobbs, a daughter Saundra June Dobbs, and siblings Cordellia, Jackie, Polly and Jack.
