KSFCR
Statement
on
Actions
of
University
of
Kansas
Associate
Professor
David
W.
Guth TOPEKA,
KAN.
--
Today,
the
Kansas
Federation
of
College
Republicans
released
the
following
statements
regarding
the
actions
of
Prof.
David
W.
Guth.
Caleb
Hays,
State
Chairman
of
the
Kansas
Federation
of
College
Republicans
and
a
student
at
The
University
of
Kansas: In
short,
Professor
Guths
words
calling
for
the
deaths
of
children
were
nothing
less
than
abhorrent
and
morally
appalling.
A
free
society
necessitates
responsibility
in
word
and
deed,
and
with
his
statements
released
on
Twitter
and
in
various
publications
yesterday,
it
is
clear
Prof.
Guth
has
broken
the
social
trust. Unfortunately,
this
is
yet
another
example
of
liberal
bias
and
inBluence
on
our
campuses.
Institutions
of
higher
education
should
provide
an
opportunity
for
all
to
engage
in
respectful,
civilized
debate.
Without
question,
Prof.
Guth
has
stepped
outside
these
bounds.
I
join
with
ofBicials
at
The
University
of
Kansas
in
calling
Prof.
Guths
words
repugnant
and
vigorously
applaud
their
decision
to
remove
him
from
the
classroom. Taylor
Schettler,
Chairwoman
of
the
College
Republicans
chapter
at
The
University
of
Kansas: Professor
Guths
statements
are,
without
a
doubt,
utterly
reprehensible
and
have
no
place
in
a
university
setting.
Civil
debate
and
discourse
cannot
occur
when
one
side
is
advocating
the
death
of
any
persons,
especially
children.
I
congratulate
university
ofBicials
on
their
prompt
decision
to
remove
him
from
the
classroom. The
Kansas
Federation
of
College
Republicans
is
Kansass
largest
and
most
prestigious
collegiate
political
organization,
with
chapters
at
each
of
the
states
major
institutions
of
higher
education.
