DESCRIPTION The problem of formation control of a team of mobile robots based on the virtual and behavioral structures is considered in this paper. In the virtual structure, each mobile robot is modeled by an electric charge. The mobile robots move toward a circle, and due to repulsive forces between the identical charges, regular polygon formations of the mobile robots will be realized This paper presents a global localization system for an indoor autonomous vehicle equipped with odometry sensors and a radio-frequency identification (RFID) reader to interrogate tags located on the ceiling of the environment. This paper analyzes the dynamics of an offshore boom crane and proposes a high-performance nonlinear controller to drive the system states to track some constructed trajectories. Robust attitude control problem for a three degree- of-freedom (3-DOF) laboratory helicopter is investigated. The helicopter dynamics involves nonlinearity, We present the results of manually tuning a stable autopilot system for this Aqua swimming robot. We employed a well-known technique called gain scheduling to allow for stable operation for velocities ranging from 0 to 40 cm/s, in real open sea conditions. Surmounting terrain elevations, such as terraces, is useful to increase the reach of mobile robots operating in disaster areas, construction sites, and natural environments. This paper proposes an autonomous climbing maneuver for tracked mobile manipulators with the help of the onboard arm.. An Automatic Adjustable Backrest for a Posture Coordination of a Seated Patient on a Wheelchair. One topic is mechanical design Of the adjustable backrest for practical use. We realize small mechanism which enables easy implementation to a general wheelchair without special reconstruction. The ability to jump is found widely among small animals such as frogs, grasshoppers, and fleas. They jump to overcome large obstacles relative to their small sizes. Inspired by the animals jumping capability, a miniature jumping robot

We present a dog-tail interface for communicating abstract affective robotic states. We believe that people have a passing knowledge to understand basic dog tail language A soft robot is presented which replicates the Ability of cephalopods to travel in the aquatic environment by means of pulsed jet propulsion. In this mode of propulsion, a discontinuous stream of fluid is ejected through a nozzle and Rolls into a vortex ring. The occurrence of the vortex ring at the nozzle-exit plane has been Proven to provide an additional thrust to the one generated by a continuous jet. An automatic gesture segmentation algorithm is developed to identify individual gestures in a sequence and the Hidden Markov Model is used for the hand gesture model training. Elasticity is an essential property of legged locomotion. Elastically suspending a load can increase the efficiency of locomotion and load carrying in biological systems and for human applications. The tele-operation of mobile social robots requires operators to understand facial gestures and other nonverbal communication from a person interacting with the robot.

assistive robotic arms can be classified. Different Possibilities and implementations to obtain each criterion are treated, and examples of current assistive robotic arms are given. Multi robot sensor-based coverage path planning determines a tour for each robot in a team such that every point in a given workspace is covered by at least one robot using its sensors. In sensorbased coverage of narrow spaces, i.e., obstacles lie within the sensor range, a generalized Voronoi diagram (GVD)-based graph can be used to model the environment. In this paper, a hybrid system of finite states is proposed for multiple autonomous robotic agents with the purpose of hazardous spill perimeter detection and tracking. In the system, each robotic agent is assumed to be in one of three states: searching, pursuing, and tracking The proposed system was tested on the VANTER robotic platforman autonomous unmanned exploration vehicle Specialized in recognition. ISROB18 Omega-Shaped InchwormInspired Crawling Robot With Large-Index-and-Pitch (LIP) SMA Spring Actuators

This paper proposes three design concepts for developing a crawling robot inspired by an inchworm, called the Omegabot. First, for locomotion, the robot strides by bending its body into an omega shape; anisotropic friction pads enable the robot to move forward using this simple motion. Second, the robot body is made of a single part but has two four-bar mechanisms and one spherical six-bar mechanism The proposed grasper has two main characteristics: self-adaptivity and flexibility. Self-adaptivity means that the proposed grasper can grip an object in a self-adaptive way such that various process complexities (e.g., sensing, force control, and sensormotor coordination) are significantly reduced. This paper is to study the balance of twowheeledRobots by fuzzy control and PID control. Two-wheeled robots need extra control mechanism to reach the balance since the system itself is instable. Assistive mobile manipulators (AMMs) have the potential to one day serve as surrogates and helpers for people with disabilities, giving them the freedom to perform tasks such as scratching an itch, picking up a cup, or socializing with their families. Multi-target tracking plays a key role in many computer vision applications including robotics, human-computer interaction, event recognition, etc., and has received increasing attention in past several years. Starting with an object detector is one of many approaches used by existing multitarget tracking methods to create initial short tracks called tracklets. Pre touch sensors are capable to classify objects and estimate their position prior to touching and thus close the gap between vision- and contactbased sensing. This will be particularly useful for robotics applications not only just for manipulation of objects but also with respect to safety A systematic approach to this step is the In variant Extended Kalman Filter (EKF), this is modified from its originally proposed form and applied to the aided INS example to obtain the observer gains. A series of human factors experiments involving maneuvering and grasping tasks are carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of a novel Asymmetric Semi-autonomous Tele operation (AST) control design framework for tele operation of mobile twin-arm robotic manipulators

This paper describes the development of innovative software and hardware technologies in order to design a system capable of obtaining the pose of robotic wheelchairs through the use of cameras in fixed positions in the environment. In hospitals, typical tasks of delivering goods between different locations are usually done by auxiliary staff. With the development of robotic technologies, such tasks can be performed by mobile robots releasing the staff effort to other tasks This paper proposes an underactuated modular climbing robot with flat dry elastomer adhesives. This robot isdesigned to achieve high speed, high payload, and dexterous motions that are typical drawbacks of previous climbing robots The energy-efficient control allocation (EECA) scheme was previously proposed to distribute control efforts for Over actuated systems by explicitly incorporating efficiency functions and working modes of redundant actuators This paper proposes a practical and effective disturbance attenuation control algorithm to support the safe and comfortable operation of power-assist wheelchairs. Participants detected more targets in the SemiAuto and Full-Auto conditions than in the Manual condition. Participants reported significantly higher workload in the Manual condition than in the two RoboLeader conditions (Semi-Auto and Full-Auto). In this paper a local data fusion algorithm based on luminosity, temperature and flame for fire detection is presented. The data fusion approach was embedded in a low cost mobile robot. In this paper, customized RFID reader antennas and platform-robust tags are designed and realized according to several requirements specifically individuated for the addressed application. Moreover, the new hardware is tested in two practical cases related to tag and robot indoor localization, respectively. This paper presents visual analysis of eye state and head pose (HP) for continuous monitoring of alertness of a vehicle driver. Most existing approaches to visual detection of non alert driving patterns rely either on eye closure or head nodding angles to determine the driver drowsiness or distraction level. Integrating artificial systems, computational experiments, and parallel execution (ACP) is an effective approach to modeling, simulating, and intervening real complex systems Automotive painting shops consume electricity and natural gas to provide the required temperature and humidity for painting processes. The painting shop is not only responsible for a significant portion of energy consumption with automobile manufacturers, but also affects the quality of the product. Various storage devices play a crucial role in the management of multiple energy systems. Controller Area Network (CAN) is an attractive alternative in the automotive and automation

It was developed by Robert Bosch for communication between various digital devices inside an automobile where heavy electrical interferences and mechanical vibrations are present Avoiding Vehicle Theft is making buzz in present automobile industry. Design and development of a theft control system for an automobile, can be achieved by making use of GPS feature of mobile phone. The developed system makes use of an mobile phone that is embedded in the vehicle with an interfacing to Engine Control Module(ECM) through Control Area Network (CAN) Bus, which is in turn, communicated to the ECM. We present a wireless sensor network (WSN) for monitoring indoor air quality, which is crucial for people's comfort, health, and safety because they spend a large percentage of time in indoor environments. A major concern in such networks is energy efficiency because gas sensors are power-hungry, and the sensor node must operate unattended for several years on a battery power supply Present Automobiles are being developed by more of electrical parts for efficient operation. Generally a vehicle was built with an analog driver-vehicle interface for indicating various vehicle status like speed, fuel level, Engine temperature etc., In todays world, traffic jams during rush hours is one of the major concerns. During rush hours, emergency vehicles like Ambulances, Police cars and Fire Brigade trucks get stuck in jams. Design of Vehicular monitoring and tracking system based on ARM using GSM and GPS is proposed. The vehicular module is used to track, monitor, and surveillance and finds the accident spot and intimate to the monitoring station. SNO P.CODE TITLES DESCRIPTION
The operation and control of the next generation electrical grids will depend on a complex network of computers, software, and communication technologies. A wireless sensor network is proposed for monitoring buildings to assess earthquake damage. The sensor nodes use customdeveloped capacitive micro electromechanical systems strain and 3-D acceleration sensors and a low power readout application-specified integrated circuit for a battery life The ubiquitous nature of miniature wireless sensors and rapid developments in the wireless network technology has revolutionized home monitoring and surveillance systems. The new means and methods of collecting data efficiently and have led to novel applications for indoor wireless sensor networks. Wireless sensor applications at elevated temperatures of around 200C and above call for robust technologies such as surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensor designs. A combined pressure/ temperature sensor with identification has been developed based on LiNbO3 substrate for condition monitoring applications in the baking industry. These programs are an important safety net until new capacity comes online in South Africa. Strategies within the demand response programs include time of use tariff and real time load limiting schemes Home area networks (HANs) consisting of wireless sensors have emerged as the enabling technology for important applications such as smart energy. These applications impose unique network management constraints, requiring low datarates but high network reliability in the face of unpredictable wireless environments. New communication technologies integrated into modern vehicles offer an opportunity for better assistance to people injured in traffic accidents. Recent studies show how communication capabilities should be supported by artificial intelligence systems capable of

ZigBee-assisted Power Saving Management for Mobile Devices

WiFi transmission can consume much energy on energy-constrained mobile devices. To improve energy efficiency, the Power Saving Management (PSM) has been standardized and applied. The standard PSM, however, may not deliver satisfactory Energy efficiency in many cases as the wakeup strategy adopted by it cannot dynamically adapt to traffic pattern changes. Intelligent Monitoring and Control Rendered to Street Lighting is a novel idea to wirelessly control street lights. Every individual streetlight i.e. node has a unique IPv6 and IEEE address through which it can be controlled from the control centre. Packet routing algorithms such as OSPF have long been used to manage the transmission of packets over the internet. In this research paper we have explored the possibilities of using one such shortest path routing technique, Dijkstra's Algorithm Talking signs, guide cane, echolocations are all useful in navigating the visually challenged people to reach their destination, but the main objective is not reached that it fails to join them with traffic. In this project we propose a bus system using wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Cooperative diversity exploits the broadcast nature of wireless channels and uses relays to improve link reliability. Most of the cooperative communication protocols are assumed to be synchronous in nature, which is not always possible in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication due to fast moving nature of the nodes Currently, energy efficiency is a major concern for all companies. This paper presents a system based on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), offering a low cost solution for improving energy efficiency in industry. Relevant data is collected by multiple nodes, provided with sensors and located at key points in the factory Fetal ECG (FECG) tele monitoring is an important branch in telemedicine. The design of a tele monitoring system via a wireless body area network with low energy consumption for ambulatory use is highly desirable. Current methods used to monitor performance for swimming do not offer real-time feedback to coaches and significantly increase post session analysis times.

To integrate intelligent electronic devices in smart grid infrastructure, the utilities are deploying substation automation systems (SASs) and extensive communication networks, but there is growing concern about SCADA security including substation security Comparing with the traditional load monitoring system, Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) system is simple to install and does not need individual sensor for each load. With contactless inductive power transfer (IPT), it is possible to transfer electrical energy to stationary or movable Consumers without contacts, cables, or slip rings. To reduce the very high development effort of new contactless inductive energy supplies, a new systematic and modular design methodology is presented in the paper In this paper, we study the problem of determining the size of battery storage used in grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) Systems. In our setting, electricity is generated from PV and is used to supply the demand from loads A renewable energy hybrid power plant, fed by photovoltaic (PV) and fuel cell (FC) sources with a super capacitor(SC) storage device and suitable for distributed generation applications, is proposed herein. Smart meters are key elements for the operation of smart grids. By providing near real time information on the energy consumption of individual users, smart meters increase the efficiency in generation, distribution and storage of energy in a smart grid. The authors suggest a methodology to valuate energyperformance of lighting sy stems. The methodology is useful in the designing time to optimize, luminaires, system and control and in management time to certificate the systems

The recent research efforts in smart grids and residential power management are oriented to monitor pervasively the power consumption of appliances in domestic and non-domestic buildings Natural daylight in interior has two main characteristics: - is extremely pleasant to humans, - is a free energy contribution. Daylight can allow to reduce the electric lighting power with consequent savings on the energy bill. In this paper, the voltage and frequency control of ship board power systems are implemented by the distributed cooperative control of multi-agent systems. The proposed control synchronizes the voltage and frequency of generators to the nominal values Among various strategies for energy harvesting in micro and meso-scale, Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting System (PEHS) brought about an ideal prospect of green source of energy to power electrical devices at low driving voltage The characteristics and components of an arcing fault are described and the hazards caused by arcing faults are then listed in order of severity The system tracks by comparing intensity of light falling on two sensors. When the intensity of light falling is decreasing in one of the sensor comparing to another, system is aligned such that both sensors receive same intensity of light. The proposed system focusses on development of low power and low cost electric energy meter reader. The system consists of two modules, measurement and communication module. The measurement module measures the line current and voltage in order to measure wattage and finally energy. This paper proposes a novel modeling methodology for MEMS-based piezoelectric vibration energy harvesting systems. SNO P.CODE TITLES An Interactive RFID-based Bracelet for Airport Luggage Tracking System DESCRIPTION
This paper investigates the use of an interactive bracelet that communicates with the RFID system by mean of a database application. The database system interacts with the bracelet using messages that inform the passenger about his luggage status. The proposed database design and implementation are also discussed to describe the different functionalities of the application. Field data are important for convenient daily travel of urban residents, reducing traffic congestion and accidents, pursuing a low-carbon environment-friendly sustainable development strategy, and meeting the extra peak traffic demand of large sporting events or large business activities, etc. This paper investigates robust H2 and H step tracking control methods for networked control systems subject to random time delays modeled by Markov chains. In recent years, we have witnessed a rapid surge in assisted living technologies due to a rapidly aging society. The aging population, the increasing cost of formal health care, the caregiver burden, and the importance that the individuals place on living independently, all motivate development of innovative-assisted living technologies for safe and independent aging. We present the design, micro fabrication, and characterization of ten sensors on one silicon die. We demonstrate simultaneous monitoring of multiple environmental parameters, including temperature, humidity, light intensity, pressure, wind speed, wind direction, magnetic field, and acceleration in three axes This algorithm will help not only sighted people to enjoy audio books but also visually impaired people because almost all of their information is obtained from speech This paper proposes a mathematical

Intelligent Household LED Lighting System Considering Energy Efficiency and User Satisfaction

The proposed LED lighting system can autonomously adjust the minimum light intensity value to enhance both energy efficiency and user satisfaction. We designed and implemented the proposed system in the test bed and measured total power consumption to verify the performance. This paper proposes a grouping-proofs-based authentication protocol (GUPA) to address the security issue for multiple readers and tags simultaneous identification in distributed RFID systems. In GUPA, distributed authentication mode with independent sub grouping proofs is adopted to enhance hierarchical protection; an asymmetric denial scheme is applied to grant fault-tolerance capabilities against an illegal reader or tag We propose a radio frequency identification (RFID)-based community E-health system where a patient is given a passive RFID card or an equivalent device and the community healthcare workers are each given a mobile RFID read/write device that can also access the central electronic medical record system. In order to efficiently reduce the amount of the electricity usage in the residential area, the demand response (DR) of the consumers is of importance. Commercial automatic speech recognition started to appear in the late 1980s and can offer a more natural means of accepting user inputs than methods such as typing on keyboards or touch screens. In this paper, we consider a residential load scheduling problem with bidirectional energy trading. Compared with the previous work, in which customers are assumed to be obedient and agree to maximize the social welfare of the smart grid system, in this paper, we consider a non-collaborative approach, where consumers are self-interested. In this paper we propose a home network service that manages ever increasing appliances in the cloud over a period of time to notify owners of when they should perform maintenance on each device.

In this paper we propose a design using a guiding system, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), IEEE 802.15.1 short-range wireless transmission technology and the Internet to fabricate a blood pressure measurement (BPM) which works in cooperation with a health management system. A case study on the medical application of WPAN ECG monitoring demonstrates that WiCop can bound ECG signal distortion within 2% even under heavy WiFi interference. An analytical framework is devised to model the CCA behavior of WiFi interferers and the performance of WPANs under WiFi interference with or without WiCop protection This paper presents the design and characterization of a micro electro mechanical system (MEMS)-based intra operative monitoring system for improving lumbar surgery safety Electromyography senses the leg nerve system to get the leg movement status of the patient. With the values from the sensors we can monitor the leg movement of the patients through Zigbee wireless communication. The ECG is among the most commonly performed tests in medicine and is the procedure of first choice in the evaluation of patients with chest pain, syncope, or dizziness. To meet the demands of a rural population, the ECG-monitoring systems used should be wireless and easily adaptable so that the patient can wear it and data can be monitored remotely. Pulse oximeters are central to the move toward wearable health monitoring devices and medical electronics either hosted by, e.g., smart phones or physically embedded in their design. A flexible implantable micro temperature sensor has been proposed and fabricated on a polymer capillary by surface micromachining Health monitoring system is one of most important and practical applications of wireless sensor network (WSN). Even though various health monitoring devices based on WSN are used, they are still quite limited in the sense of mobility and accuracy based on energy balance is proposed to improve network performance in wireless sensor n/w.

In this proposed method, new control method based on the PLC has been introduced The HP machine Solenoid valves are controlled using PLC as per the operation cycle. The efficiency of a PLC control is increased at variable speeds and thus increases the power consumption. The proposed algorithm is designed to keep the needed complexity at the meters at minimum, while moving the intelligence up to the DC. The protocol accounts for asymmetric characteristics of the power line channel, where some nodes couldnt receive data from DC and neighbor nodes (deaf nodes), while its transmission could be received properly. In this work the first stage is to automate the water storage & distribution for various requirements and control the level in the storage tank and monitoring[2] the pH, conductivity, temperature before distribution which is very important as any small change in these parameters may hinder the performance of the whole pharmaceutical plant. This paper presents the control of elevator system using Siemens LOGO PLC. Introducing automation distributed in small (sub-) systems will be an enabler to more functions, comfort, energy savings, growth of quality and other advantages in many fields so far not at all or only sparsely or automated. This paper puts forward four kinds of solutions and uses the automatic control system based on PLC and rotary encoder. Field operation shows that the system is running stably and the ventilation door can open (close) reliably. This automatic control system greatly improves the safety of production in coal mine.
