EVENT MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Events Manager Full Time: 35 hrs (9.15am - 5.15pm) need to be flexible Employer: Premier Christian Media Department: Marketing Location: London Salary: 23,000 - 25,000 per annum Reporting to: Marketing Manager Closing Date: Friday 2nd October 2009

THE JOB: The role of the Events Manager is to plan and execute events that fulfill Premiers objectives. The role is very dynamic, incorporating a wide variety of tasks and event types. Working to deadlines, planning and project management will be a common feature of work to ensure events run well. There is a strong people-focused element to this role by virtue of liaising with event contributors, venues, suppliers, partners etc. On the day of an event, problem-solving, creativity and determination all play their part in making an event successful. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 Event concept creation, e.g. themes, message, purpose Identification and booking of all contributors, e.g. preachers and worship leaders Liaising with speakers, performers, venues and other suppliers so that all elements for an event are properly booked, organized and accounted for. Project planning for each event, including budgeting. Monitoring against plan, including ticket sales. Management and oversight of event ticketing arrangements. Organization of all materials needed to be shipped to an event in good time, working with the Marketing Assistant. Ensuring all events are properly staffed, with Marketing Assistant. Ensure all PA and Audio Visual elements e.g Song Words are created and tested in advance of the event.

On the day of an event, to lead the team on the ground for event setup Working across departments with Content, Sales, Fundraising and the Executive to ensure all Premier objectives are achieved. Create a post event evaluation report, for the Marketing team, finance team and Executive. Building of own skills and competences for implementing marketing projects

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Relevant strong experience in event management Ideally educated to HND/Degree in business related subject Full clean UK driving licence. Willingness to be trained in First Aid An understanding of the broad Christian community An understanding of media and web is desirable Experience of working in a busy, high pressured environment

ABILITIES & SKILLS: Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to handle and own multiple projects Excellent administration and organizational skills Pro-active and show initiative Strong IT skills including, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Willingness to learn, Song Projection Software. Ability to negotiate Ability to work well under pressure Determination to ensure successful events, willingness to undertake a wide range of tasks to this end. This job requires some flexible working at weekends, evenings and trips away from London.

PERSONAL: A lively, flexible, friendly personality with a high level of commitment and dedication An effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills Confident in decision making and creative problem solving IT literacy in main set of Microsoft programmes The post-holder will work in a Christian environment and will deal with Christian organizations and Ministries for most of the time, therefore it may be necessary for the jobholder to be a Christian.
