JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Capital Campaign Fundraiser

Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and lead the combined capital
campaign for an innovative collaboration between three established nonprofit agencies in
the Fox Cities. This position will work with a committee of volunteers representing the
three organizations and the community at large. This position will be responsible for
researching and soliciting funding from local, state and national foundations and
corporations whose funding interests align with those of the project, including but not
limited to support for sustainable building and collaborative programming projects. This
position shall assist in leading local fundraising efforts to raise awareness and secure
funding from individuals, foundations, and corporations in an effort to strengthen our
community through this unique collaboration of programs and resources. This individual
will work closely with the three agency directors and the volunteer committee to ensure a
successful campaign that will result in a stronger community through improved services,
reduced duplication and realized cost savings due to resource sharing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


Knowledge:
• Bachelor’s level degree in related field of study with preference for a master’s
level degree in a related field of study
• Demonstrated success organizing and running previous capital campaign projects
• Five years of professional level experience with fundraising for community
human services programs

Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrated functional knowledge of Word, Excel and other fund development
software applications
• Demonstrated success in grant writing and funding in community human services,
education or corporate charitable settings
• Ability to organize, coordinate and communicate with a variety of individuals and
groups, instilling confidence, providing leadership and exhibiting professionalism
at all times
• Demonstrated success in securing major contributions and multi-year gifts

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with the three organizations to organize a capital plan, including a
campaign timetable, feasibility study, and table of gifts
• Work with agencies and their Boards to identify key prospects
• Develop a major gifts prospective donor list
• Assist with matching appropriate campaign leaders to donors for solicitation
• Work to establish reporting procedures to keep campaign leaders, volunteers and
Boards updated throughout the campaign
• Assist with finalization of case statement and promotional materials for campaign
• Locate sources for federal, state, local and private funding and in-kind resources
• Identify new donor bases and organize initiatives to solicit funding
• Write grant proposals to a variety of organizations, sources
• Develop resources, research funding sources, and write fundraising proposals
• Coordinate activities related to grants and contracts
• Develop fundraising strategies and oversee all aspects of fundraising programs
• Monitor project to ensure that grant requirements and organizational standards are
met
