Statistical Reports
dot.jo has the ability to provide JAMS with statistical reports of every access, hit and page view attempt made on the website. This will enable the company to realize how successful their website in terms of marketing the business. It also tracks the section that was most accessed and viewed by online users.

The mechanism is as follows: When a user accesses a Web page, the server keeps an access log file of information such as:

The statistical reports get generated from the information found in the Web servers access logs. dot.jo provides the website administrator a username and password to access the reports. The administrator can scroll through statistical reports with detailed entries and charts. The Report supply you with "page views" and "hits"

dot.jo Content Management System (CMS)

Our CMS replaces HTML editors, word processors, FTP and groupware systems, with the simplest writing environment used nowadays (the web browser). CMS is an easy solution that allows non-technical people to edit their own content without complicated programming. Whether you need to add new content, remove pages, upload images or change the formatting, the CMS has all the features to execute it quickly and efficiently in order to run a reliable website. Web Based Running the Content Management System only requires a web browser; it can be used on any machine that has access to a web browser. Manage your Menus The CMS grants full access over the website; managing the menus, creating multi level menus and changing its content appearance. Text Search Full advanced search capability in every section and on the whole site. Access Levels The Content Management System is created with authorization levels giving you the power to delegate as many writers as you need to help you update your website either by giving them permission to change the site directly, or have the content reviewed by a Super Admin first. Example Level One: Component Owner Level Two: System Administrator Updates Preview The CMS will give you the ability to preview any updates before having the site uploaded online to fix simple mistakes and avoid any time consumption. File Management No need to use File Transfer Protocol (FTP) to upload new images or documents to the web site. The file management utility enables the users to upload files as they edit the document online. Multilingual Interface The content managed site will have the ability to be upgraded to host multilingual languages on the basis that the client provides any languages other than the commonly used (English, Arabic). Auto Sitemap Adding, changing and removing new links & sub-links in the site will be automatically reflected in the site map. Archiving The archiving feature gives the ability to archive old articles for reporting purposes. Copy & Paste Feature The user can copy and paste text in the required fields for quick and easy content administration. Copied text will maintain the same format; such as bold, italic, or underlined, were the editor will automatically format it to HTML code. Rich Text and Content The text menu enables the user to have full control over the text & contents by adding, editing, and resizing photos and graphics with the click of a button.

Content Management System

Full Content Management The site administrator will have full control over the site. He/she can add new menu items, new sub-menu items, add new content and delete or modify any of the existing content. Add Unlimited Number of Pages The system allows the administrator to add unlimited number of pages under any existing level with no restriction. The content is maintained by the administrator using the Content Management System (CMS). i.e.: About Us, Mission, Vision, Maritime Studies, and the Academy Profile. The administrator will have full control of the website pages as in adding, editing and deleting pages. The page will be linked into the website with its title placed within the menu items, which the administrator has control over. All this will be done with user friendly commands and functions and simple rich text editing tools.

Our dedicated team of designers will produce a unique, tailored look and feel design for the JAMS website which will grasp attention, express a professional image, convey JAMS messages, and entice customers back again and again. The website design shall be clear and user friendly. Languages
This offer is for two languages only, Arabic and English. Each extra language will not take the same time or cost for development. We suggest starting with the Arabic version and the English version for now and then grew the site into other languages. Other languages will depend on the available translations.

News Engine & Press Release

The News Engine will be responsible to display the companys news. There will be a complete section that contains all posted news articles. The company will be able to display the news items on the homepage in the form of headlines. A location will be dedicated to display a certain number of news items, starting with the latest placed on top of the listing.

Any addition made to the homepage news list will push the last item to the archived list inside. Each item on the homepage will have a 1. 2. 3. 4. News Headline Thumbnail image, if needed Short Brief Date of publish, if needed
Once the news headline or image is clicked, the user will be routed to the full article itself, displaying all the text and image content. A more news button or link will be placed to transfer the website user to the complete list of news items and articles, usually being the archived ones. The list will have its own search box where the user can search for a specific item. Maintaining the News Engine is a straightforward process using rich text editing tools quite similar to conventional office tools. The administrator can also control the creation and location of the article using simple commands, such as defined checkboxes. The admin will know how many hits (clicks) has been done any news statement. Photo Gallery
The Photo Gallery engine provides the academy with the ability to display images; from generic images, to a special event that took place. The images can be placed in albums, which in fact are categories to distribute the images fittingly. Each album can have a cover image and a title describing it, along with a date of publish/creation. Once the album is accessed, the user will view a complete list of images inside in the form of thumbnails. The thumbnail will have a title, a publishing/creation date, and a brief description, if needed. The image can then be accessed to be viewed in full size. The user can move between images using the directional arrows, or clicking the desired image directly.

The administrator will be able to maintain the images, its details, and the album. The administrator will need to maintain the size of the images offline as not to overload the upload and download process. dot.jo will advise with the suitable image size that best fits the academy. The administrator will not be responsible for the reshaping and thumb-nailing of the images as the engine will take care of the process. The administrator will only need to upload and provide the descriptive details.

Video Gallery
The Video Gallery engine provides JAMS with the ability to upload a video. The administrator will be able to maintain the videos, its details, and the album. dot.jo will advise with the suitable video size value that best fits the website. The administrator will be responsible for the resizing the video offline as the engine will not commence the process.

Events Calendar
The Events Calendar is an engine that is responsible of displaying all the archived and upcoming events taking place in relation to JAMS, as in:

Each event will have a title and a body containing description of the event taking place. The events can be put into categories according to their preference. The user can choose to view the calendar in a year, month, or day view. The user can click on the desired event to view the complete information. Events can be seen on the homepage in the form a calendar, or accessed in an inner page. The inner section will have a search tool to locate a certain event, whether it may be old, or new. The administrator will be maintaining the events and the categories that the events fall under. The administrator can link the event to a form, where the user can register to the event. The

Administrator Side
The web system will allow Administrative Staff to perform the following tasks on-line: Create users accounts (students and instructors) Block / unblock users with the ability to display the reason of blocking either by selecting pre-fixed reasons from a drop-down List or by writing an explaining message to the user Post / unpost students marks Control the publishing of the students marks once submitted by the instructor with having the ability to modify the marks when necessary (have all instructor privileges) Open / Close / Extend or Shrink the registration period Review and manage (add, remove or change) students registration records and unpost the pre-submitted registration for the students to update their registration if needed Send e-Newsletter to students, instructors and other website administrators using the Mailing list Engine Maintain a Time-Controlled Banner that can pop up on the home page and will be used to announce a big event or notification (Ex. Opening the registration of courses...)

Instructor Side
The web system will allow instructors to perform the following tasks on-line: List courses of the current semester View all the registered students in each course in a tabular view in order to fill students marks and edit them while the semester is still not finished * There will be two types of courses that will be viewed to the instructor in two forms * The instructor cannot modify the marks once published Student Side
The web system will allow students to perform the following tasks on-line: View registered courses for the semester View marks (Filtered by semesters Descending) View Exams Calendar Register in courses by: o Selecting from pre-defined courses plans (templates) o Choosing posted courses one by one from variant templates * The student should attach a receipt or tax invoice (could be a scanned paper or a picture) to prove that he has paid for the semester which will be sent to the finance department by the admin
Notes: ** All data will be taken from JAMS duplicate database. JAMS will provide stored procedures to dot.jo containing the required tables. dot.jo will be responsible to query from and into the database ** The database should be provided as Oracle 10g. ** All forms will be built to support Arabic data. If JAMS decides to display English data as well, dot.jo suggests having an English mirror of the forms and sheets in the Administration & Registration Area (JAMS would not be charged any fees for this option)
Other services that will be given to Administration, Instructors and Students Login Each user will be able to login into the Administration & Registration Area through a user name and a password. All users will be able to change their password and have a forget password tool. Check Mail Users will have the ability to access their own E-mail accounts, check for any new e-mails or read existing ones through the website easily using a username and password. View Messages This area will show all messages that have been posted by the administrative staff. Instructors and Students will be able only to view these messages, check for latest ones or read old ones.

Mailing List
The Mailing List engine is a tool that the academy will use to send various information to registered users. JAMS can use the Mailing List to build a vast and diverse electronic contact list of people. This list is obtained by either users registering into the website, or directly through the administrator. The list can also be categorized to hold names of people of related nature and placed in groups. i.e.: Students, Instructors, HR Department, etc.

Browser Compatibility
The website should be built to conform to the latest web and accessibility standards defined by W3C (The World Wide Web Consortium), website will be made compatible to run and operate smoothly on all browsers Internet Explorer 6, 7, 8 & 9 Firefox 3.X Opera 9.6X Safari 4 Google Chrome
dot.jo will be responsible to tweak the website after launch to any minor changes that could affect performance. dot.jo will also be responsible to check the compatibility of the site with new browsers upon their final version launch.
Search Engine
The Search Engine tool will enable users to search and locate any data found within the pages and sections of the website that are of text nature. The tool is usually found on the homepage and can be located on every inner page too. The search results will appear in an inner section, listed according to the relevance.
FAQs & Inquiry Form

The Frequently Asked Questions section provides the users with answers regarding inquiries that are frequently sought. The section will be in the form of a list of questions and answers. The user can browse through a list of questions or search directly through the search tool. The listing will chronologically sort. The administrator will be responsible to fill in the questions and answers. The sorting will be done automatically by the engine in a chronological manner. The inquiry form will serve as a communication tool for the user to inquire about an issue or product where no details or description was found within the websites page or FAQs. The form will be predefined during the development process or maintainable by the administrator if the Form Builder engine was implemented.

Printer Friendly Version

This option allows the customer to print out any page on the website. The customer will have the option to print the page as it appears on the website or to refine it from images, hyperlinks, headers and footers, and banners. Using the latter, the content will be pure text to decrease page numbers and allocate as much text as possible on the page. The Printer Friendly Version button will be available on each page as highlighted in figure below.

Bookmarking & Sharing

A Bookmarking and Sharing tool will be place to allow users to share the articles and web content with friends and family through the popular social media networks. The user will need to; 1. Click on the Share button 2. Click on the desired social networking icon

Contact Us & Feedback Form

The Contact Us page will view the academys contact details, whether they may be generic, or specific to personnel per department. The page can also provide direct contact capabilities by having the Feedback Form implemented within the page
Sitemap
The Sitemap is one of the most important sections of the portal since it summarizes the whole sites categories and components in one comprehensive & structured map. o The sitemap will include main categories and sub categories o The sitemap will be built as land box (each box should include one main category as a headline and underneath the sub categories presented as bulleted points) o The sitemap will not be a listing view o The header of land box/main category and the sub categories will be clickable; whereby the customer can click on it to be lead to the related page on portal o Each main category (header of land box) can be presented with a related icon The sitemap will be integrated with the CMS pages, and it will be updated automatically. I.e. when the website admin add a new page or section, he does not have to update the sitemap as well; the sitemap will be updated on its own according to the new additions.
