Questions 33-40 are based on the following article. It was a lovely evening. Azlan and I decided to follow our friends to a river nearby for a swim. I was already 13 years old at that time. Azlan, however, was barely 9. When we reached the bridge, everybody plunged into the water except Azlan. We had a good time swimming in the river while Azlan just sat on the bridge watching us. I tried to persuade him to jump into the river, but he refused. After a while, I saw Azlan standing up. Come on Azlan, dont be afraid, I shouted. Trying to be brave, Azlan plunged in, oblivious of the drifting wood in the river. Unfortunately, it was too late when I realized it. Azlan knocked his head against the wood and went into a coma. He later underwent several operations, but he was still unconscious. I felt terribly guilty as my conscience overwhelmed me. I could never face life if anything worse happened to my only brother. I didnt mean to hurt him. I just wanted him to share the fun that my friends and I were having. My parents were horrified at first, but soon, they took pity on me. They realized that I was in no better condition than my brother was in. They consoled me by saying that it was just an accident and that I could not foresee his fate. I missed my brother a lot and felt very much alone. I spent most of my days talking or reading to him at the hospital, hoping that he would get better. One day, while I was telling him what I did at school, he moved his fingers. I was so happy that I immediately called all the nurses and doctors. They assured me that Azlan would improve. A fortnight later, he was able to walk and we talked like the good old days. That was the happiest day in my life.
