PFHL Course 530-- Interesting Spiritual Anagrams (4 pgs.)

(by Bill Stevenson)
Directions: First read and answer the questions the best you can, as thoroughly as possible.
Then write an essay about your favorite anagrams in this collection. You can
include other good spiritual ones that you have seen. Also find appropriate
Scripture for your essay. This assignment is worth 4 units, so write at least 7
quality pages.
Note: I believe that the main reason for the problems in the Christian church is the lack of
prayer and thinking as indicated by the below:

P -- power from Heaven

R -- ruled/guided by the agapè love of God and His Word
A -- attentive to the Holy Spirit
Y -- yearning for Christian, world revival
E -- earnest to be righteous and compassionate
R -- ready for the return of Jesus Christ
Be blessed in answering these related questions:
How can prayer help you realize and receive the Ephesians 1:19-23 & 3:20-21?
How should prayer emphasize God's promises and unselfish love?
How can you be sensitive to the Holy Spirit when you are trying to pray?
How can prayer help revival of Christians happen in the whole world happen?
How can committed to be righteous and compassionate help in praying to God?
How can prayer help you be ready for Christ's return?

Note: The best book from which to learn how to control is the Bible. At an Albuquerque church
I attended in 1997 and a Oklahoma academy I visited in 1999, I saw the following on a
sign:
Basic
Instruction
Before
Leaving
Earth
How often are you learning from that wonderful, enduring book? If you are reading it, then you
will make changes in your life by what is indicated in the following anagram that I received from
the Holy Spirit during the last of a series of Wednesday night Bible study lessons on true
Christian changing:

1
C -- Christ, confession
H -- Holy Spirit help
A -- attitudes and actions
N -- needs
G -- good works (Ephesians 2:10)
E -- everywhere for eternity
Expounding of the above:
1.) True Salvation is a prerequisite to changes that will last forever. The only way we can know
what to change to is to increase our knowledge of Jesus Christ and the Bible-- what pleases
almighty God the Father. But we also need to confess our bad habits.
2.) To do this we need Holy Spirit guidance help which we can only get when we are doing the
just indicated learning in a humble way after a sincere request prayer.
3.) We should want to change any of our attitudes and ways of relating to others so that we will
be more Christ-like. Also, we need to remember: habits that are eliminated need something
better to replace them. We should use the extra time to love God and help others more. The
order of the Two Great Commandments indicates that loving God as much as possible will
result in loving others. Point your spiritual telescope upwards until the Holy Spirit directs it
horizontally by giving you statements or/and actions to say or/and do. Once the latter is
done, point your spiritual telescope upwards again. Remember Proverbs 3:5 includes two
“all”s.
4.) Ephesians 2:8-10 says that the result of true Salvation by accepting the grace of God should
result in you wanting to do the predestined good works that the Holy Spirit will urge you to
do.
5.) The resulting new ways of thinking and doing will be for everywhere and forever. True
Christians should always want to daily make changes towards being Christ-like. What
percentage of the day are you desiring such and doing the above? How or in what ways can
you increase that daily percentage?

Note: If you do such changes, you most likely will lose friends, be criticized or/and ridiculed, or
be punished in other ways (ex: lose your job or even be hurt physically). The following
(which I received from the Holy Spirit during a pre-election community prayer meeting
in 1992) indicates what you should do and want during such times of opposition:
C -- commitment to God's truth
O -- obedience to the Holy Spirit
U -- understanding God's desires
R -- revival spiritually
A -- attentiveness for opportunities to minister
G -- gratefulness to God, especially for His protection
E -- enduring in faith of our Lord Jesus Christ
Galatians 2:20-- “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives
in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me
and gave Himself for me.” The just mentioned said in John 14-15 that His disciples are to obey
His commandments (including the only ones directly written by God’s hand in Exodus 20).
Romans 8:1 says, “There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not
walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

During a testimony at the end of a Colorado church service in which an attendee was voicing his
frustration about luck being mentioned so often in his workplace, the following came to my
mind:
L -- living
U -- under
C -- Christ's
K -- kingship
What does this mean to you? How did Jesus Christ say the Holy Spirit should help you do such?
See John 14-16.

God will trust you more if you live under Christ's kingship and others will trust you if you do the
following:
T= truthfulness
R= respect
U= understanding
S= steadfastness (especially in promise/vow-keeping)
T= tolerance (of the other's preferences)
Why is an individual being trustworthy in living for God rather than for self so important?
How can you keep control of yourself in your home and in public? The following came to me in
a Bible study class on the passage in Mark about Jesus and Peter walking on the water:
C -- character & Christ-likeness
O -- obedience
N -- needs & notions
T -- thinking & temper & tolerance
R -- reverence & relating to God
O -- observations
L -- learning & love with Holy Spirit help [Proverbs 3:5-6]

What God hates in our churches:

R -- ritual
E -- earnestness for superficiality
L -- legalism
I -- ignorant of a lot of what is God-pleasing
G -- going on with tradition
I -- “I” problem especially in pride and selfishness
O -- obnoxious behavior
N -- nasty, hypocritical, and condemnatory talk and preaching like the Pharisees of old did
What is rare in all churches (even the ones with many ministry programs)? My answer: Christ-
like compassion. What are the main reasons for this? My answer: Traditions, prideful
prejudices, and selfishness. What can be done? My answer: True Christians need to go against
human nature and consecrate (commit) themselves more and more to Proverbs 3:5 & 6 living
and the following:

3
C -- Christ, unselfish concerns, & consideration
O -- observations
M -- mercy & money sharing
P -- perseverance, prayer, & patience
A -- attentiveness
S -- specific needs fulfilling
S -- spiritual reasons
I -- ideas & inspiration
O -- obedience to the Holy Spirit
N -- necessary or needed attitudes, actions, & aspirations

How can you help fallen Christians?

R -- respect for one another and receiving of them
E -- emotions (listening to) and exhorting in a caring/teaching way
S -- Scripture sharing: what does the Bible say about the situation needing restoration?
T -- teaching from a Holy Spirit-led pastor, Biblical counselor, or an appropriate Scripture-filled book
O -- obedience to God's Word and the Holy Spirit encouragement
R -- repentance encouragement: proper changes of thinking and behavior habits
A -- appreciation and adoration (not flattery)
T -- trusting again help
I -- intertwine souls encouragement
O -- outreach encouragement: sharing good news and lessons with others
N -- notify relatives encouragement about the new ways of thinking and behavior

Are these good goals for every spouse? Why?
