Some questions for you, Mr.

Kasibhatta: -What exactly is Samhita doing at the moment, academically, and what has been her background? Samhitha is preparing for Intermediate second year MPC stream (12th Standard). It is said that she is the first girl child in India to get into MPC stream at a very young age. She passed Tenth standard at the age of 10 with 8.8 GPA (85%), A1 grade in Mathematics and Science (above 92%) At the age of 11, passed Intermediate first year (11th Standard) this year with 87% (Chemistry 58/60, Mathematics 120/150, Physics 51/60, English 85/100, Sanskrit 96/100) 1. At the age of 5, presented a 16 page article on The Solar System to Dr. Abdul Kalam during his tenure as President of India and got apprecaition and special appointment to meet him. 2. At the age of 6, she wrote a letter to Dr Manmohan Singh, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, in which she mentioned that we need to generate our own income (income in terms of Goods rather than money income). Dr. Manmohan Singh replied back within a week with a Thank you note in which he stated that India needs young and bright individuals like Samhitha for the prosperity and development of the Nation. 3. Received an award from Dr. C. Rangarajan at A.P. Bhawan, New Delhi 3. Appreciations from various dignitaries, past four Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh. 4. State Child award for Exceptional Achievement 5. Appreciations from UNICEF, WHO.

-I believe she's strong with extracurricular activities too. Pease tell me something about that. Also, do they help in growth as a person? Music - She wants to pursue her Diploma in Classical Music in the next 2-3 years. Drawing - Appreciations from Smt. Pratibha Patil, former President of India for her drawings on Terrorism, Dr. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna for having presented his pencil sketched picture in a Violin ,UNICEF India Representative for her drawings about the activites of UNICEF. Likewise, WHO. -When and how did you first realise your child is a prodigy? 1. at the age of 1 and 1/2, she spoke our mother-tongue (Telugu) fluently. 2. at the age of 1 and 1/2. she took the steps to Tirumala Abode herself though we tried to carry her in our arms. That proved her stamina. 3. she used to remember all the characters, dialogues from the old movies for a long time. From this we could identify her memory power.

4. She learnt reading and writing Telugu, Hindi and English alphabets in a week. So, we realized her quick learning skills.

-What did you do to help develop her skills? By practical way of learning rather than conventional approach. For ex., when Samhitha asked about what an Estuary is, we took her to the place so that she could understand the practical way. -Who was the very first person to recognise her special abilities? Her Father, Mr. Kasibhatta -How does is feel to have a grown-up child in the family, how do you cope with her maturity levels and her high intellect? Samhitha clearly bifurcates herself between childhood and studies. She behaves as a normal child of her age in her activities and as a grown-up in studies. We treat her as any normal child of her age and provide her with all the requirements either in playing, extracurricular activities etc. and when it comes to studies, we treat her on-par. Samhitha has the dual advantage of being young in age and talented in studies :) -How did you manage to have her write her Board exams at such a young age, since there is a minimum age limit? What did you have to do to prove her high levels of qualification and was it a difficult task? School Teachers' and parents encouragement The State Education Department interviewed Samhitha and went through the SSC notes prepared by her. Permission granted and Samhitha proved it right by scoring 85%.

Questions to Samhita: -How exactly does it feel to be different from others, do you find your peers (of your age) difficult to mingle with and how is it being in the same class with students much older? Actually I have lots of friends right from 6 to 60 year old. I am flexible in making friends like how water aquires different shapes in different vessels. Keeping aside that I am in a higher class, I gather friends and encourage them to play at least 1.5 to 2 hours every day.

-You do know that your IQ is at a higher level than that of others your age, so do you feel elated about this or does it come to your naturally? I feel that every child has good IQ levels. May be he/she needs to realize his/her own potential. More than IQ, I give priority to schedule planning and time management. The IQ levels naturally increase. -In school, how did teachers react to your keel of understanding? Was there any incident in which people refused to accept your higher level? My school / college Chairman, Vice-chairman, Principal and respected teachers are the ones who identified the levels of understanding in me along with my parents. It is because of them that I could attempt the 10th board exams at the age of 10. One of my fathers friends refused to accept and he feels that I have very little time for my leisure. But when he came to know about my daily routine (study, music/drawing and playtime), he appreciated me and felt that every child should follow a similar routine. -What is the reaction of people around you when they realise you're so mature in ,intellect? They want their children to be like me. But I feel that there are many children who can shine in various fields if they make proper plans. -What are your future plans? I'm sure your academically ready for a big future, but please tell me something about your mental state. Are you emotionally inclined and ready as well? Complete intermediate second year (12th standard) with a good score. get into a premier institute and take up an integrated course in physics. pursue diploma in classical music in the next 2-3 years Build relationships through my drawings Right now I am preparing for my academics and I would take the competetive exams a year after I complete my 12th standard. I do so in order to differentiate between academics and entrance exams thus keeping myself mentally fit.
