1.3.1
Principle of Operation
General During operation of the gas turboset shut-off valves MBA30 AA004, AA208, AA210, AA220, AA230, MBA31 AA003, MBA33 AA005 and AA009 are closed. Relieve valve MBA33 AA008 is open. Valves MBA31 AA003, MBA33 AA008 and AA009 are operated by control air. Valve MBA30 AA004 is equipped with an electric and manual drive. Valves MBA30, AA208, AA210, AA220 and AA230, MBA33 AA005 are operated manually.
1.3.2
Fuel Oil Drain Shut-off valves MBA30 AA004, MBA31 AA003 and MBA33 AA009 open and MBA33 AA08 closes automatically after every failed start and every shutdown of the gas turbine. The remaining fuel oil and water flows from the combustor through tank MBA31 BB001 and fuel water drain system MBA33, centrifugal extractor MBA33 AT001 and detonation safeguard MBA33 AT002 into tank MBA33 BB001. In separator MBA33 AT001 the fuel oil and water is separated from the air. The air is directed to the open, the fuel oil and water is directed into tank MBA33 BB001. When the level in tank MBA33 BB001 reaches the preset upper level, measurement MBA33 CL001 initiates the start of pump MBA33 AP001 which pumps the liquids into the waste water system. When the level drops below the preset lower level the pump is shut-off. Shut-off valves MBA30 AA004, MBA31 AA003 and MBA33 AA009 close and MBA31 AA08 opens automatically during preparation for the subsequent start-up of the gas turboset.
1.3.3
Washing Water Drain Drain lines are connected to the air intake manifold MBL30, to the air pipings MBH33 and MBX69, to the compressor casing, to the turbine casing, via tank MBA31 BB001 to the EV combustor and to the expansion joint in the exhaust duct. To remove the washing water from the EV combustor, the turbine casing, the compressor and the exhaust duct the operator opens the corresponding drain and shut-off valves before starting off-line washing.

System Description
Water drain cock MBA31 AA003 and MBA33 AA009 are open and MBA33 AA008 is closed during off-line washing. Shut-off valve MBA30 AA004 at the expansion joint is opened by the electrical drive controlled from the control room. If necessary the valve can also be opened manually at the machine. The following drain valves are opened manually: at the blow off line at the rotor cooling air line at the control air line MBX69 at the compressor at the air intake manifold MBA30 AA208 MBA30 AA212, AA214 MBA30 AA213 MBA80 AA210, AA220 MBL30 AA210
The washing water is directed from the gas turboset into common water drain system MBA30, and then into a movable tank. The washing water from the combustor and the expansion joint is directed into tank MBA33 BB001. When the level in tank MBA33 BB001 reaches the preset upper level measurement MBA33 CL001 initiates the start of pump MBA33 AP001 which pumps the liquids into the waste water system. When the level drops below the preset lower level the pump is shut-off. After washing has been completed the operator has to close all manually operated water drain valves!

System Description
MBA33 AA008H Limit switch to valve MBA33 AA008 The limit switch monitors the open position of shut-off valve MBA33 AA008. Start-Up (before ignition): Further progress of the starting program is prevented if the valve is not in the open position. MBA33 AA009L Limit switch to valve MBA33 AA009 The limit switch monitors the closed position of shut-off valve MBA33 AA009. Start-Up (before ignition): Further progress of the starting program is prevented if the valve is not in the closed position. MBA33 CL001 Level measurement in tank MBA33 BB001 The measurement monitors the level of liquids in the tank. If this level exceeds the preset limit, an alarm in the control room is initiated. MBA33 CL002 Level measurement in tank MBA33 BB001 Measurement MBA33 CL002 monitors the level of liquid and indicates it locally and also controls pump MBA33 AP001. When the fuel level reaches the preset upper limit, the pump switches on. When it has dropped to the preset lower limit, the measurement switches off the pump. MBA33 CL004 and CL006 Level measurement in tank MBA33 BB001 If the level of liquid in the tank exceeds the alarm level and continues to rise despite the command to switch on the pump by measurement MBA33 CL002 and exceeds the preset maximum level in one of the two measurements, a load shedding of the gas turboset is initiated. MBA33 CL005 Level measurement in detonation safeguard MBA33 AT002 Measurement MBA33 CL005 monitors the level of liquids in the detonation safeguard. If the level drops below the value, an alarm is initiated in the control room.

System Description
MBA33 CT001 Measurement of temperature The measurement monitors hot gas leaks in the fuel drain system MBA33 by measuring the gas temperature in the drain line after shut off- valve MBA31 AA003. If the temperature exceeds a preset limit (shut-off valve MBA31 AA003 leaks or is not in the closed position), an alarm is initiated in the control room. MBA33 CT002 and CT003 Measurements of temperature The measurements monitor hot gas leaks in fuel drain system MBA33 by measuring the temperature in the drain line. If the temperature in one measurement exceeds a preset limit (shutoff valves MBA31 AA003 and MBA33 AA009 are not in the closed position), an alarm is initiated. If one temperature exceeds the preset maximum limit a load shedding is initiated immediately. MBA33 CT004 and CT005 Measurements of temperature The measurements monitor fuel oil leaks by measuring the temperature in the drain line of system MBN41. If the temperature in one measurement exceeds a preset limit (drain valve MBN41 AA060 is not in the closed position), an alarm is initiated. If one temperature exceeds the preset maximum limit a load shedding is initiated immediately.
