1. In your own words, describe QPIDs mission statement (found below) and how it relates to the position you are applying for. QPID is a venue for collaboration among students and members of our host communities to share knowledge and promote development consciousness. QPID uses a holistic approach to development through engagement in critical thinking and informed action. 2. Why are you interested in getting involved with QPID? What sparked your interest? 3. QPID First Year Intern Description Overall, a QPID Executive member spends approximately 5-10+ hours working a week. The basic responsibilities include: Attend Executive meetings These meetings are generally biweekly, but can occur more often depending on the time of year and in special circumstances. Attend weekly QPID forums QPID holds weekly internal/development engagement forums with all committee members, general members and members of the Queens community. Attend office hours 3 scheduled hours a week at the QPID office Attend meetings with your director, At the discretion of your respective director (twice a month) Attend executive retreat A day or weekend in the fall with QPID training and planning sessions Prepare a transition manual This is to be passed on to next years executive. This will be due in two installments, one before January, and the other at the end of the school year. Read and remain familiar with the QPID Operations Manual Ensure that QPIDs vision and mission throughout all aspects of QPID. Participate and volunteer at QPID endeavors held by other executives. Fulfill the specific executive responsibilities (listed below) to the best of his/her ability and with commitment and enthusiasm. First Year Intern (1) This is a new position within QPID, created to encourage first years to become familiar with the workings of QPID. Unlike other executive positions, the first year intern will work under all portfolios in QPID. They will be responsible for aiding in the planning and implementation of many of QPIDs community projects. They may also be expected to carry out their own projects under a certain committee. One such project may be helping in creating a promotional video of QPID for first years. The goal of this position is to encourage first years to participate in an executive position in order to become more familiar with all aspects of QPID, and to have better representation of first years in the executive committee. The first year intern can expect to work closely with Marketing and Promotions, High School Outreach and Sponsorship. They will also work closely with the Directors to help implement projects outside of other executive positions. Essentials: - Strong written and oral communication skills, capable of presenting in front of large groups of people

Excellent time management and organizational skills: necessary for working on several projects at the same time and communicating between committees. Highly motivated and a good independent worker Experience in sponsorship, grant writing, and media production are assets
