Statoil Fire and Gas Detection System

Services Performed
The FRA designed a fire and gas detection system for the oil tank farm at the Statoil South Riding Point Terminal.

Objectives
Objectives of the services performed were as follows: Conduct a detailed site survey to determine existing conditions Provide a detailed fire and gas system layout Provide specifications for design and equipment Observance of installation and final acceptance testing

Project Description
Statoil contracted the FRA to design a detailed fire and gas detection system for the South Riding Point Terminal located at the island of Grand Bahama, Bahamas. A fire and gas detection system was designed for the ten (10) oil storage tanks and an offshore loading platform in accordance with applicable NFPA codes as well as Statoil requirements and standards. The new system was a networked fire alarm system that used fiber optic connections to seamlessly connect all onshore and offshore facilities.
