Performed
The
FRA
designed
a
fire

gas
detection
system
for
the
oil
tank
farm
at
the
Statoil
South
Riding
Point
Terminal.

and

Project
Description
Statoil
contracted
the
FRA
to
design
a
detailed
fire
and
gas
detection
system
for
the
South
Riding
Point
Terminal
located
at
the
island
of
Grand
Bahama,
Bahamas.
A
fire
and
gas
detection
system
was
designed
for
the
ten
(10)
oil
storage
tanks
and
an
offshore
loading
platform
in
accordance
with
applicable
NFPA
codes
as
well
as
Statoil
requirements
and
standards.
The
new
system
was
a
networked
fire
alarm
system
that
used
fiber
optic
connections
to
seamlessly
connect
all
onshore
and
offshore
facilities.

Adequate fire and gas detection throughout the tank storage areas as required by NFPA codes and Statoil requirements and standards. Increased personnel protection from risks of toxic hydrogen sulfide gas and explosion from accumulation of combustible hydrocarbon gases
