Can any one please guide how to reduce RRC Establishment Failures due to No Reply..

Aumpika Vitchayapitikul Failures due to Uu No Reply possible cause from both DL and UL path. For DL, possible poor DL coverage,insufficient FACH power or FACH congestion ,so the "RRC connection setup"message couldn't reach the UE. For UL,possible cause from DL/ULimbalance, poor UL coverage ,high RTWP or unsuccessful L1 synchonization. In this case,UE doesnt send "RRC Connection Setup Completed" to RNC or the message doesnt reach the RNC. To solve the issue,you can optimize cell coverage,cell reselection parameters(e.g Treselection,sintrasearch,sintersearch,qQualmin,Qrxlevmin),T300/N300,FACH power/capacity or process timer e.g wait timer during RRC setup process. Also need to check & optimise power control(ensure enough UL power), channel switching (DCCC) ,Load control setting( Trigger lower bit rate when poor radio condition or high uplink load or even can trigger IRAT Ho based on UE Tx power) and also ensure fast enough handover.

I have question about FACH : 1. FACH carry many user in small packet. How to separate service in each UE ?

Aumpika Vitchayapitikul when UE in connected mode,RNC will assign U-RNTI(UTRAN Radio Network Temporary ID) to each UE after setup RRC that how RNC can differentate the users. Each UE will have their Radio Bearers(RB) which map to DCH or FACH on transport layer. FACH wii br mapped to S-CCPCH on physical layer which shared between PCH and FACH. FACH can be used to send SMS,carry small packet during Cell_FACH state and use as signalling during RRC connection setup procedure,FACH congestion will impact all these usage and Patt Cha FACH have algorithm to manage traffics ? Andy Anupong For small data or SMS you could send on Cell_FACH rather than Cell_DCH. As P'Ice said, PCH and FACH sharing the same physical layer, that's why it may impact on paging if FACH congested Patt Cha I'm mean when FACH congest what happen in small data are queuing packet/reduce bit rate/timer/reject UE.

Aumpika Vitchayapitikul Small data can sending on Cell_DCH state when FACH congestion. RRC connection that setup on FACH will be rejected.
