MarineCorpsboughtRecklessin1952 inKorea.Thoughttobea4yearoldof Thoroughbred/Mongolianbreeding,the chestnutmarestoodonly14hhand weighedabout900lbs. Recklesswentthroughbasichoof trainingsuchaslearninghowtostep overbarbedwireandimmediatelylay downuponhearingincoming!Atfirst shestayedinthestable,butsoonthe Marinesallowedhertoroamfreelyin campevenallowinghertocomeintotheir tentstosleep. Hermostsignificantaccomplishment cameduringtheBattleofVegas,March 2628,1953,whenshemade51solo tripsinasingledaytothefrontline, carryingatotalof386recoillessrounds (over9,000pounds),coveringover35 milesaday.Recklesswaswounded twiceduringthebattleandpromotedto Corporal.Recklesscontinuedtoserve withherMarinesthroughouttheKorean war.Forherexemplaryservice, RecklesswasawardedtwoPurpleHearts amongothercommendations. Postwar,RecklessrelocatedtoCamp Pendleton,CAwhereshewaspromoted toSergeant(1954),StaffSergeant(1959) andproducedfourfoals.Shewas providedfreeboardandfeed,inlieuof retirementpayperMarineCorps documents,untilherdeathin1968. 1.Laywithyourbackflatonthefloor. Withkneesbent(orformoreofa challenge,keepyourkneesstraight) slowlyraiseyourfeetofftheground, andthenslowlylowerthemuntilyour feetarealmost,butnotquite touchingtheground.Repeat30 times.

2.Beginbylyingonyoursidewith yourlegsfullyextended.Stretchyour bottomarminfrontofyouoracross yourchesttohelpyourbalance,and restyourotherhandbehindyour headsoyourelbowpointsout.Lift yourlegs,keepingthemcompletely straight,andbringyourelbowtoward yourknee.Repeat8to10times.

3.Lieflatonyourstomach.Tuck yourtoesunderyourfeet,andlift yourhipssothattheyareinlinewith yourbackandlegs.Youshouldfeel yourabdominalscontract.Holdthis positionfor30seconds,oraslong asyoucan.
