Destruction of the Dieng Area will

districts: Wonosobo, Banjarnegara,
Purbalingga, Banyumas and
Dieng is the upper coarse of
Cilacap.

™ The Dieng region is home to various
endangered species :
• Leopard (Panthera pardus),
• Boar (Sus verrucosus)
• Owa Monkeys (Hylobates moloch)
• Surili (Presbytis comata)
• Lutung Monkeys (Trachypithecus
auratus)
• Nineteen bird species including the
Javanese Eagle (Spizaetus
bartelsii).
• Specific Plant of Purwoceng
(Pimplinea pruacen)
About 4.000 ha of
lands in the Dieng
region of the
Wonosobo District is
converted into
agricultural potato
farming
Critical land
mass in the
Dieng area has
reached
± 7.758
hectares
In the past 3 years
the Wonosobo
District has
expirience 17
Flood at 2.000 floods, and 70
mudslides
meters above sea occurance
level: Always
occuring in the
rainy season
The Panglima Sudirman dam in Banjarnegara
irrigates 6.400 hectares of paddy fields, as well
as produces electricity at 184,5 MW.

Cilacap Due to the erosion in the Dieng Area, the technical


lifespan of the Sudirman dam will only reach 12-15
years. The sedimentation dredging cost will reach
Rp 200 billion/year.
