Achievement

Wilnecote High school aspires to be an outstanding school. Our Mission Statement identifies what is important to us and the factors that will help to make us outstanding. Achievement is central to this. Students are encouraged and supported to do their best and to realise their potential in everything they do. Our students aim high and achieve well. In recent years a number of students have obtained places at Oxford or Cambridge University. In 2012 one of our Year 11 students won a scholarship to Eton. Academic achievement and exam results are good and improving over time. At GCSE students of all abilities make good progress and we do well against a range of indicators across the full range of subjects. In 2013 our results bucked the national trend and showed significant improvements on 2012. More details can be found in the enclosed newsletter and in the section on Examination Results. As a parent, I am absolutely delighted with my daughters consistent high achievement during her 5 years at Wilnecote High School. Parent of a Y11 Leaver

However at Wilnecote High School we view achievement in a much broader sense. We see it as supporting each student to discover and develop their individual skills and talents and to become self-confident citizens. You will find many examples of how we do this in the Curriculum and Opportunities sections of this prospectus. In January 2011 Ofsted inspectors visited the school and were very complimentary about our achievements in most of the work we do.
