Chemical Nature Physical form Storage

Cationic fatty acid condensation product. White to Slight Yellow / Viscous dispersion. When stored correctly, in sealed containers, Basosoft FF- EUK New has a shelf life of up to 12 months. As the temperature decreases, Basosoft FF-EUK New becomes increasingly pasty to solid. When it is warmed, the product reliquifies without loss in efficiency.

Properties
Ionic Behaviour pH Solubility Cationic 4.0 - 5.0 Basosoft FF-EUK New can be readily diluted with water at room temperature to the concentration required. The opalescent, diluted solutions are acidic and are stable in hard water of upto 40o German hardness (50 o English). If the goods are to be softened in dye baths that contain Glauber salt, the Basosoft FF-EUK New should not be added to the exhausted baths until the dyeing has been completed. Goods treated with Basosoft FF-EUK New are liable to yellow if they are cured or dried for prolonged periods at temperatures above 140 oC. However, yellowing does not occur at temperatures below 140 oC unless the goods have been subjected to local overheating. Action Basosoft FF-EUK New produces an excellent, soft handle on all types of fibres.

Stability

Application
Basosoft FF-EUK New can be applied by various methods, e.g. exhaust, spraying, dipping, padding etc. not only to loose stock, slubbing and sliver, but also to all types of yarn or piece goods. If the process water is hard, the bath should be acidified with acetic acid before the Basosoft FF-EUK New is added. In short liquor processes, e.g. padding, Basosoft FF-EUK New is applied at room temperature. In long liquors, better substantivity is obtained at a processing temperature of 45 oC.

After the softening process, the treatment baths should still show an acidic pH, because - like almost all cationic products, Basosoft FF-EUK New has only a slight softening action in the alkaline pH range.
