*** What is bootloader unlocking ?

The bootloader is a program that allows your phone to boot. When you buy the mobile, its bootloader is LOCKED. That means you cannot install a kernel and most of the custom roms. When you unlock the bootloader, these manipulations become possible. It's like the S-Off from HTC.

Warning: don't forget to backup your data as explained on the video because the phone is reset during the bootloader unlocking.

If you have bought your phone from a carrier, it's very likely that its bootloader is not unlockable because of the lack if fastboot mode (the led doesn't turn blue at the step 4). If you have issues with the installation of the drivers, install manually the driver android_winusb.inf in Unlock SE xperia bootloaders/drivers/x86/usbwin

Note that once your bootloader is officially unlocked: Your warranty is lost on most of the cases (Some customers services don't even know what is a bootloader)

The TrackID and "music like" ("like" option in the audio player) apps won't work anymore. Anyway Shazam is better than TrackID ^^

When you unlock your bootloader, the phone cannot be updated with PC Companion or Update Service. Instead, you can use FlashTool or WotanClient to install updates.
