Teaching Context : World of Knowledge Focus Topic : Writing : On The Farm (UNIT 12)

Content Standard : 3.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to write using appropriate language, form and style for a range of purposes. Learning Standard : 3.2.2 Able to write simple sentences with guidance. 3.2.4 Able to spell common sight words. Objectives : By the end of this lesson, pupils will be able to : 1. Write at least two simple responses to the Wh-Questions given correctly in the riddles.\ 2. Write all the answers in the worksheet given correctly with guidance. Time Teaching Aids : 60 minutes : Pictures of legs, tail and horns. Picture of a goat. Picture Cards ( a goat, a chicken, a cow, & a duck) Word Cards ( a beak, two horns, etc) My Riddles Book Worksheet Colour Pencils Manilla card ( Quick Grammar)

Set Induction (5 minutes)

Put Me Together

1. Teacher pastes a disorganized pictures of parts of the goat on the white board. (pictures of legs, tail and horns)

2. Teacher asks pupils to organize the pictures to form a complete parts of a goat. 3. Pupils who are chosen by teacher will come to the front of the class. 4. Pupils match the disorganized picture to the body of a goat and form a complete parts of goat body. 5. Teacher then introduces the topic which is about parts of animals. Presentation (10 mins) Teach Parts of the Animals (A goat, a chicken, a cow and a duck) Quick Grammar Wh-Questions & Responses (Focussing on What) 1. The step is continued until it reach the fourt picture.

Practice ( 15 minutes)

Riddles

1. Teacher divides the pupils into five groups. 2. Pupils form five groups. 3. Teacher then gives a riddles book to each group. 4. Teacher asks pupils to write the answer for each riddle in the blank page beside the riddle. 5. Pupils discuss with their group members and write the answers on the blank page.

6. Teacher then asks pupils in each group to write their group members name on the first page of My Riddles Book. 7. Pupils write their names. 8. Teacher then collect the books. Production ( 25 minutes) Colouring and Writing Responses (Worksheet) 1. Teacher gives a worksheet to each pupils. 2. Teacher asks the pupils to fill in the blank box with the part of the animal in the worksheet. 3. Next, teacher asks the pupils to colour the pictures and fill in the blanks with a response about the picture. 4. Pupils fill in the box with the parts of the animals. 5. Closure (5 minutes)

Discussion

1. Teacher gives the riddles book back to the pupils but this time to the different group. ( Riddles Book for group 1 is given to the group number 5 and vice versa) 2. Teacher discusses the answer with the pupils. 3. Pupils check their friends book and give marks.
