F-1201A NOTE: If installing the Optional Dual Efis Kit (Manual Section 43) in place of the Map Box Kit, skip to 29-07 Step 1. Step 1: Remove the F-1240 Assembly and cleco the F-1202U Instrument Panel Right Mapbox to the Upper Forward Fuselage Assembly. See Figure 1. Step 2: Cleco one of the Map Box Halves to the F-1202U Instrument Panel Right Mapbox and match-drill #19 through the holes in the F-1202B Panel Base. See Page 24-04 Figure 4. Remove the instrument panel right mapbox and the map box and deburr. See Figure 1. Step 4: Cleco one of the map box door hinge segments to the map box door. Attach the hinge segment halves by inserting the hinge pin and cleco the free map box door hinge segment to the inside of the bottom of the map box. The map box door should fit tight against the instrument panel when closed and stop in the horizontal position when open. The holes through the bottom of the map box and hinge may be "fudged" slightly and/or a thin scrap aluminum spacer may be used between the door and hinge if/as required to achieve good fit and operation of the door. Match-Drill a 1/4" hole through the map box door, F-1202U Instrument Panel Right Mapbox, and upper map box flange using the previously drilled #40 hole in the door as a drill guide. The 1/4" hole is for the camloc door fastener. Enlarge the 1/4" hole through the instrument panel and map box flange to 7/16" This is to allow for the door to fit flush against the panel with the camloc washer installed. Insert the camloc fastener and camloc receptacle in the instrument panel right mapbox and the upper flange of the map box half. Mark the rivet hole locations from the camloc receptacle onto the map box half flange, remove the camloc fastener and receptacle and final drill #40 the map box half and instrument panel right mapbox. Remove clecos and deburr parts. See Figure 3. Step 5: Machine Countersink the #40 holes in the F-1202U Instrument Panel Right Mapbox for AN426AD3 rivets. Rivet the hinge halves to the bottom of the inside of the map box and to the map box door. Rivet the map box flanges to the instrument panel right mapbox. Rivet the camloc nutplate to the instrument panel right mapbox. Install the camloc fastener and internal tooth washer to the map box door to complete the installation. A small socket and channel lock pliers can be used to press the washer onto the camloc fastener. See Figure 3.

Step 3: Make the Map Box Hinges and Map Box Door as shown in Figure 2. Drill the 1/4" diameter hole in the map box door #40 initially and enlarge it later when installing the camloc nutplate.
