Numerical line differential protection SIPROTEC 7SD60

Sales release The numerical line differential protection with 2 pilot wires 7SD60 under the trade name SIPROTEC 4 is now released WORLDWIDE for general sale. Substitution of existing products The 7SD60 substitutes the 7SD24, which was already discontinued in 1996 for the european market and which was delivered only for repair purpose. The 7SD24 is general discontinued with the first shipment of the 7SD60. When exchanging 7SD24 with 7SD60 both relays (on each side on the line) needs to be exchanged. The external summation transformer of the 7SD24 can by used with the 7SD60. Sample devices Sample devices can be ordered immediately. The sales groups Germany, Europe and Oversees in the parent house got two sample devices each for demonstration. Device languages The available device languages are English, German and Spanish. The default language is English. The language setting can be changed via the integrated keyboard or by

Regionalization The relays can be delivered in different hardware- and firmware-extensions. They are coded in the MLFB. Worldwide are no differences in the available hardware- and firmware-functionality.

First shipment The first shipment will begin in March 1999.

Lead time after first shipment After receipt of order: 4 weeks

Risk There is no risk for the first shipment in March 1999. Manuel / documentation An entry for the 7SD60 could be find in the INTRANET under http://info/ev_s/de/html/hg030200a.html . For parent house employees also under H:\FACHAKTE\SCHUTZ.

For product presentation you can find sets of foils in German and English language. The file format is POWERPOINT-97. Furthermore you find the German manual as a PDF-file. A hardcopy can be ordered in Frth under the code E50417-G1100-C069-A1. The English manual will be available in the end of 3/99. The order code is E50417-G1176-C069-A1. A preversion of the German catalogue leaflet will be available with the first shipment, the English version will be available one week later. The final order code for the German catalogue leaflet is E50001-K4405-A121-A1. The English one is E50001-K4405-A121-A17600. Further information will be added soon. In the near future the relay will be taken up in the PMS, which will provide current product information.

OPERATION / DIGSI 3 The relay is locally operated via an integrated keyboard and a two line display. The default settings and default marshalling are chosen in a way, that only little changes on the settings are necessary (approx. 3-5) to run the relay properly. Beside the local operation via integrated keyboard is the PC-operation program DIGSI 3 used for user interface to the 7SD60. The link to the PC is made by a RS485<->RS232 converter (as in the case for 7SJ60/7RW60), which is available as an accessorie. The available accessories are listed in the manual. 7SD60 is officially included in DIGSI V3.32 (supply 5/99) and DIGSI LIGHT V3.32. The drivers for the German and English 7SD60 DIGSI update (in case of an already installed DIGSI program) are available in 3/99 as a preversion in the INTRANET (http://info/ev_s/de/download/sw-download/digsi/de) and under the drive I. For downloading the drivers from the INTRANET the passwords digsi and digsipass has to be used (please consider lower case letters for the passwords).
