DUCT WORKS METHOD OF STATEMENT

DUCT WORK METHOD STATEMENT

1. Definition: This method of statement specifies the process the duct work, which includes all the air movers, air handling units, kitchen and bathroom exhaust either install inside building or on roof. All in accordance with specification section 15890 and SMACNA's sheet metal and air conditioning contractors' standards 2. Delivery, Handling Storage : Duct work will be delivered to site in one meter length boxes as in sizes as the related shop drawing indicates. The boxes will be stored at specified closed room in the basement floor. The type of insulation and cladding will be as to (Smacna)'s standards and as indicated in table 2. 3. Fabrication and insulation: The thickness of the sheet metal will be as stated in SMACNA's standards and as specified in the table no.1. all anchor bolts ,angles, bars and channels will be installed at site as the manufactures recommendation (HILTY) which is clearly shown in the related material submittal all longitudinal seams for the rectangular duct shall be double corner seam as indicated in SMACNA 's attached sheet

all rectangular duct shall be receive cross breaking treatment in order to obtain more strength for all sizes The type of rectangular duct reinforcement will be as SMACNA 's standards and as indicated in table 1 sealant will be added to all transverse joints The type of rectangular duct insulation is fiber glass rigid boards having a 48 kg/m3 density and 25 mm thickness as indicated in the bill of quantity and specifications as indicated in table 2. All exposed insulation shall receive another layer of duct cladding having a sheet metal thickness of 0.7 mm to protect it from weather as indicated in table 2 4. Testing; all duct tightness will receive a light test to insures air leakage
