Research:
1. Design & develop of new Schiff base (SB) and corresponding reduce Schiff bases
(RSBs) having various ONN, ONO, ONS and ONNO donor atom, less susceptible
to hydrolysis and prepared the corresponding M-complexes for synthesis of
various novel chiral and non-chiral metal complexes (MCs) with V, Cu and Ti.

2. Our research focuses on the development of homogeneous and heterogeneous

catalytic system using polymer, zeolite-Y and MCM41with transition metal
complexes, aiming to obtain recyclable catalysts. Study the relationship between
the structure and its performance in catalysis. We study the influence of the ligand
geometry of the catalyst centre on the rate and selectivity of the reaction.
Designing ligands that steer the catalytic reaction in an enantio-selective manner is
a major aim of our research, although it is more based on trial-and-error and
sophisticated guesses, and apply their reactivity in a variety of oxidation processes
of industrial relevance. Targeted applications are pharmaceutical, environmental
and cosmetic.

3. We aim to propose/establish plausible mechanisms, detect intermediate species

and better understand the factors responsible for catalysis and enantioselectivity.
We make use of all modern synthetic methods and explore novel systems with an
of physico-chemical techniques ranging from NMR, IR, EPR, UV-Vis, SEM, TGA,
TEM or X-Ray diffraction studies.

4. Synthetic Experiences: Experience in moisture sensitive reactions and products

using standard Schlenk/double line techniques, familiar with all chromatographic
and crystallization techniques.
