Sunday @ 12-4pm there will be a meeting to share opinions and generate ideas on election reform initiatives. 3. Oct. 30th Legislative Whistle Stop Tour higher education 4. Stop by office hours to talk about initiatives or any other ideas you might have. C. Emma Halling, Vice President 1. Trained replacement, associate, and freshmen senators. Plugged them into committee and board positions. 2. Title IX committee, now a round table meeting. Starts in early November. D. Pantaleon Florez III, Graduate Affairs Director 1. Tea at 3, student senate table set-up. Office hour opportunity in the lobby of the union 2. Graduate Studies focus group for the KU Master plan. Send interested people to Pantaleon. 3. Graduate senators have all been delegated assignments. E. Vanessa Phillips, Rights Committee Chair 1. Rights next cycle we will talk about being nice to student group members. F. 1. Lasted longer than Finance. Discussed resolutions. H. MacKenzie Oatman, University Affairs Committee Chair 1. Sent out a list of commonly asked questions for general funding bills. 2. Been talking to members about starting discussions within the committee. I. Qi Chen, Thomas Plummer, SenEx Representatives 1. Created Ad online committee to explore???? 2. Emma is looking for students to fill these seats. IV. Regular Agenda 1. Approval of October 9, 2013 Full Senate Agenda 1. Add Graduate SenEx representative to Old Buisness to Full Senate Agenda. 2. Seconded 3. Passed Announcements A. Qi Chen: Engineers Without Boarders went to Rights and were denied general funding. Not a good source of outreach to student groups. It was not inclusive behaviors. 1. Tyler Childress: The bill was tabled by the sponsors of the bill. The inclusion argument does not apply to this situation. There was good discussion on the bill. I dont think its as black and white as you are making it out to be. 2. Qi Chen: It doesnt look good for the committee to shut down the bill. 3. Vanessa Phillips: Its not anyones fault. We cant tell our committees how to vote. I would like to give them general funding, but the committee did not agree to have the bill go through. 4. Qi Chen: This doesnt look good when Im trying to do outreach to groups. 5. Tyler Childress: We are not preventing them to come back again for general funding. We need to stay professional and fair to all groups. Adjournment at 4: 23.
